    Dating and Community

    Dating and Community

Dating in community is HARD. That's real. I see an epidemic of Christians avoiding dating within community often because of the pressure felt, or for fear of not wanting to ruin community life. Y'all, we have got to change church culture around community and dating. In this episode with guest host Rebekah Hess, we continue the conversation on singleness from last week to discuss opportunities we have to create a safe and healthy space to date within church community, and the importance of community when in a serious relationship. Rebekah and I share our own personal experiences with each other of dating within community and navigating feedback from friends. We delve into topics about our relationship we've never discussed, and in it find even more insight and wisdom to how to navigate healthy dating within community. Whether you are trying to date within community, or want to learn how to create a healthier space for community dating in the church, this episode is for you.

The New Lens To Look At Church Through with Ben Stapley

The New Lens To Look At Church Through with Ben Stapley

It’s been said that a picture is worth a thousand words - such a cliché, right?

But the reality is, someone deciding whether to go to your church or not is looking at your social media posts, your content, and the photos of your church community.

So it may be true – photos really do say a thousand words.

In this podcast episode, our host Aaron Magnuson gets insights from one of The Social Media Church Conference speakers, Ben Stapley on the value of incorporating real-life photos of the people in your church into your social media content.

P.S. It’s time to look at a new lens for your church growth strategy! Learn more about these strategies when you join The Social Media Church Conference this July 13-15.

    9. Interview with Harliem and Vania Salim, Jakarta, Indonesia

    9. Interview with Harliem and Vania Salim, Jakarta, Indonesia

Who are Harliem and Vania Salim?

Harliem and Vania Salim started with a church of around 1,000 members and multiplied it to 35 churches in Indonesia with over 5,000 members.  Along the way, they have started three schools, built their own building, and converted a large number of influential and wealthy individuals and celebrities.  They have done this by insisting on each small group "doing life" together.  They emphasize building a healthy community in each small group and church.  They have two beautiful daughters and offer help and guidance to many other churches in Southeast Asia and around the world.

    Program Outline

    • What brought you back to Asia?
    • Please tell me about the size and growth of the Indonesian churches over the past twenty years.
    • Coronavirus, what’s changed for you and the church?
    • You are a couple that is making a difference, what drives you?
    • Why did you start your schools and how?

    • What advice would you give a person, man or woman, who wants to make a difference and live "no regrets" life?
    • Do you have any regrets, anything you wish you could do over or differently?
    • Tell me about a time when you came back from a setback or failure.
    • What advice would you give to people who are dealing with failure or discouragement?
    • Tell me about something that keeps your spiritual fire and ambition burning brightly.
