YANA REZNIK From Concert Pianist To Spiritual Awakening

YANA REZNIK From Concert Pianist To Spiritual Awakening

My guest today comes to me compliments of my long time producer Russ McMahon.  Russ received a serendipidist facebook post from a long lost friend from his days at the famed Interlochen Arts Academy. .  She is classically trained from a very young age starting in Russia.  She received a coveted scholarship to study classical piano at Interlochen which brought her to the United States.  Through hard work and years of indepth perfomance study she became a highly sought after classical pianist.

She is a highly spiritual person and performer.  She is with me today not so much to talk about her career but more about a recent catharsis which has changed her focus and philosophical life's journey.  She is going to talk today about things very few musicians are comfortable sharing.

The Proms: Sir Nicholas Kenyon CBE

The Proms: Sir Nicholas Kenyon CBE

In this episode Lady Carnarvon invites one of her neighbours in for a catch up. For 12 years Sir Nicholas Kenyon was responsible for the world famous BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall. Recorded before the recent controversy over 'Rule Britannia', Sir Nicholas looks back on a time when he made changes to the last night of the Proms. He also talks passionately about the crisis facing the arts following the covid-19 pandemic and shares his concerns for the future.

    The Opening Chord

Since childhood, I have been obsessed with a very basic question: Why do some people listen – that is, give music their undivided attention as opposed to just hearing it while they do or think other things – and others don’t?

Learn how Maestro Maull grew from a child who contemplated music—and life—while reclined under the grand piano as his mother practiced.
