Galline in fuga è un film del 2000, diretto da Peter Lord e Nick Park e prodotto da Aardman Animations.

Gaia e le altre galline dell'allevamento Tweedy vogliono fuggire dal pollaio per vivere libere, senza l'obbligo di deporre uova o il rischio di venire uccise. Tutti i loro piani però falliscono. Un giorno, arriva una speranza dal cielo: il gallo Rocky che insegnerà alle galline a volare, con tanto lavoro sodo, perseveranza e lavoro sodo. La sfida diventa più pressante quando Mrs.Tweedy introduce nella fattoria un macchinario per produrre pasticci di pollo. Le galline dovranno allora lottare fino all'ultimo per salvare le penne.

Galline in fuga è il primo lungometraggio di Aardman e capolavoro indiscusso di animazione stop motion. I personaggi sono meravigliosi, unici e veri. Soprattutto Gaia è una gallinella dalla forza straordinaria che riesce ad ispirare tutte le sue compagne ad andare oltre i confini del recinto. Il design dei personaggi è ben studiato e in puro stile Aardman. La stop motion è spettacolare, con una fluidità che vi farà ben presto dimenticare che ciò che vedete sullo schermo sono foto di pupazzi, mossi millimetro dopo millimetro dagli animatori, scattate nell'arco di anni. Infine la sceneggiatura è ottima, sorprendente e gestisce molto bene il crescendo della tensione. Galline in fuga è un film emozionante, divertente e drammatico, accompagnato da una colonna sonora indimenticabile.

Sarah wants you to know your joke is funny and why, and we're here for it. We discuss the controversial comedy of Matt Rife, his decision to do domestic violence jokes, and his appearance on The Challenge. Just when we thought we couldn't love/hate Crocs any more, they go and do country/western styles, and completely redeem themselves (for light to moderate ranching only). Sarah is inexplicably mad at a particular shoe company and it's hilarious. Apparently it really grinds her gears when people have, and I quote, dusty feet. We also hear why she is never, we repeat, never, trying to look elegant. A restaurant is charging $50 for bad parenting, and we discuss whether we like this policy. We also hear about a restaurant whose staff is made up of people living with dementia, and why it sounds like a solution to several societal problems. There is a clay shortage, and now we're worried that there will not be a Chicken Run sequel and Shaun the Sheep might be hibernating until they invent a replacement.

Cissi Efraimsson is a Swedish LA-based artist and director working in the fields of stop motion animation, sculpture, painting and music.

Efraimsson graduated the MFA program in Experimental Animation at the California Institute of the Arts in May 2022. She received a BFA in Fine Arts from the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm in 2018.

Efraimsson works at the borderline between reality and the surreal/supernatural. She often uses elements from folklore and places them in the real world, within a contemporary context inspired by pop culture. Efraimsson works on the border between the ordered and near-perfect and the skew and absurd. The atmosphere she creates is often a balance between the ugly and beautiful, and Efraimsson mines events and dialog from her own life – with a certain degree of twisting and turning. Recurring themes include fantasy, escapism, magic, and the subconscious, while humor and a playful energy course throughout everything Efraimsson creates.

Her musical output is vast, and Efraimsson currently sings and drums in punk-pop trio Vulkano, having previously drummed in Those Dancing Days.

Ron Howard turns a story that got the doc treatment last year about the Thailand cave rescue into a feature (Thirteen Lives) and stand-up comic Jo Koy stars in a film based on his life (Easter Sunday). The Predator franchise springs to new life in the 18^th century (Prey) and Brad Pitt takes on a locomotive full of assassins (Bullet Train). There’s a lot of love this week but there are some targets as well.
