BONUS EPISODE: What If Creativity Was an Others-Focused Activity? // Ashlee Gadd

We are so excited to share this special bonus episode with you today!

Have you ever thought that creativity was limited to scrapbooking, or that you just aren't a "creative person"? Ashlee Gadd, author of Create Anyway, is joining Natalie Abbott to talk about why being created in the image of God informs how we should view creativity, why creativity doesn't need to be a selfish pursuit, and how motherhood and creativity collide. May you be inspired to use the creativity God has given you to serve others for his glory!

This month’s memory verse: “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” — Colossians 3:12

Today's Dwell guest: Ashlee Gadd is author of Create Anyway: The Joy of Pursuing Creativity in the Margins of Motherhood and the founder of Coffee + Crumbs—a beautiful online space where motherhood and storytelling intersect. As a writer and photographer, Ashlee has spent her entire motherhood creating in the margins. When she's not writing or vacuuming Cheerios out of the carpet, she loves making friends on the internet, eating cereal for dinner, and rearranging bookshelves. She and her husband have three kids and live in Northern California.

CYOP #77 - Getting to Know Your Community Through Workshops with Ashlee Gadd of Coffee + Crumbs

CYOP #77 - Getting to Know Your Community Through Workshops with Ashlee Gadd of Coffee + Crumbs

Today’s episode brings me to Common Space here in Sacramento, which is a rentable space for events, photoshoots and other fun things, to chat with writer and photographer Ashlee Gadd. Ashlee is the founder of Coffee + Crumbs—a collaborative blog about motherhood—and she was kind enough to help me continue my segment on those who teach their craft to others. Recently, she and the team at Coffee + Crumbs launched a writing workshop that looked incredible! So, I knew I wanted to catch up with her to chat about the blog, the workshop and everything else she’s working on these days.

In the interview, we talk about the amazing community surrounding Coffee + Crumbs and how Ashlee believes that the workshop has strengthened that community. She also chats about how Coffee + Crumbs came about, what the team is working on right now (she may have given us a little inside scoop on that front, by the way) and her best advice for those looking to share their knowledge with others through workshops and classes.
