Spending Some Time With John Troia From Tempus Fugit

Spending Some Time With John Troia From Tempus Fugit

When we think of cocktails, we often think of the spirits that we use to make them, but the modifiers, the Liqueurs, the Cremes, the Vermouths, and the Amaris, that balance the drink, often become an afterthought.

But one brand not only seeks to bring those liquids into the spotlight but also explore the history and seek out modifiers that may have been lost over time.

Tempus Fugit, a Latin term that means time flies, is a brand that has been digging through the annals so as to source and recreate rare spirits and cures and their latest release. Creme De Moka is a perfect example of this.

To find out more, we talked to John Troia from Temps Fugit about history, cocktails, and the archaeology of liquids.

Ep. 74: Theology Proper (Pt 9) Inseparable Operations w/ Dr. Adonis Vidu // Tasting Mr. Black Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur

Ep. 74: Theology Proper (Pt 9) Inseparable Operations w/ Dr. Adonis Vidu // Tasting Mr. Black Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur

The guys are joined this week by Dr. Adonis Vidu, a Professor Theology at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and the author of "The Same God Who Works All Things: Inseparable Operations in Trinitarian Theology." Justin and Blake sip Mr. Black Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur, while Dr. Vidu sips a tea as the trio deep dive into the discussion of this seemingly opaque, obtuse doctrine -- which proves to be exceedingly important to our understanding of the Gospel and extremely doxological in nature.

Thanks to Eerdman's Publishing Co, we've been provided with a copy of Dr. Vidu's book that we are giving away to one winner! Head over to www.DistillingTheology.com/Giveaway to enter for your opportunity to win a copy of his book as well as a Distilling Theology glencairn glass. Giveaway running now through next Friday, July 2nd. Winner announced on Tuesday, July 6th.

Next week, we'll be doing a reflective episode, considering all that we've studied and learned together about the doctrine of God and how it affects the rest of our theology. We'll be sipping a personal favorite of Blake's -- Talisker 10 year. You won't want to miss it!

Eat! Drink! Smoke! - Episode 74 - We've Been Put In Self-Quarantine For Coronavirus. No...Seriously. Here's the Story...
All they did was attend the Conservative Political Action Conference in National Harbor, MD, just next door to Washington DC. Yet one attendee tested positive for coronavirus. They're both fine, but Tony Katz and Fingers Malloy still have to deal with self-quarantine. Seriously. Tony Katz hosts the Eat! Drink! Smoke! podcast, presented by Fanimation.com. Sitting on separate decks, they review the Rocky Patel 2003 Vintage Cameroon cigar, the Davidoff Winston Churchill Late Hour Toro cigar, Old Forester bourbon and a coffee liquor that has Fingers embarrassed about who he is as a man. Yes, they are in self-quarantine. No leaving the house for the rest of the week. They're both calm, but the panic across America is pure madness. And why are people making runs on toilet paper at Costco? Nevermind the inability to find hand sanitzer in any store! Can Americans deal with a problem without manufacturing a crisis, and without losing their minds?

Tom Baker from Mr Black - Single Origin Columbia

Coffee Liqueur and coffee based cocktails have come a long way in the last few years and many attribute that to Australian liqueur company Mr Black.

But as anyone who appreciates fine coffee will know, it is not a one note ingredient. There is a huge diversity in flavour depending on the region or origin of the beans, not matter whether you are drinking it in the day or the night.

The company have just released a new Single Origin liqueur, so we talk to Mr Black Co-Founder Tom Baker about their new expression, coffee terroir and the cocktails you really should be experiencing it in.
