parent pep talk: why college is an interesting time for mental health

second myth of the college experience: you meet all your friends freshman year

second myth of the college experience: you meet all your friends freshman year

"Everyone has friends already." "I don't have anyone to hang with." There's an expectation that you get to campus and immediately click, connect, and have a group of friends. For most students, that doesn't happen!  In this pep talk, we chat the real timeline of college friendships, stress around picking sophomore year roommates, and why any part college is a great time to meet people (not just freshman year).

Story Time: How I Burned Down My Dorm Room In College lol

a pep talk on being jealous

a pep talk on being jealous
Jealously has been a sneaky side effect of the pandemic. It's easy to think that someone has it better than you when there are all different levels of school and work opening for fall. Jealously can actually be used in a really positive way if you know what to do with it. Today's pep-talk, I share how a moment of jealously helped me and how you can use it to get what you want in your life.

    covid and college admissions

    covid and college admissions
The pandemic has turned college admissions upside down. Without SAT/ACT scores, extracurriculars, and with semesters of pass/fail grades, the traditional admissions rubric no longer works. This is a huge opportunity as more weight shifts towards a student's character making essays, interviews, and recommendations essential. In this episode, I share my #1 tip to stand out in college essays and cover letters. Knowing who you are, why you want to be a student at a specific school, and how to articulate it, is now crucial. This is a pandemic shift I am actually excited about!

    low bar meditating

    low bar meditating
we know we should meditate because it's supposed to be good for us, but how do we actually do it and stick with it? today's episode I share my low bar meditation practice including the songs I use, which is a big part of my whole experience. it's one of my most favorite ways to self-care. if you're someone who needs to stress less, just wants to feel more connected, or loves savasana this is a good episode for you. www.maggiedipasquale.com

how (and why) to put yourself out there!

how (and why) to put yourself out there!
Afraid to go after the things that you want? I get it. Today's episode is all about putting yourself out there. We talk about how **not** putting yourself out there gets you the result you're afraid of anyway, how to make new friends (including ideas for a hang), and networking vulnerability with the college to corporate crowd.
