    Welcome to The Rock

    Welcome to The Rock

Come From Away  is called Broadway's 100-minute feel good sensation, and for good reason. Now in its 6th year at the Schoenfeld Theatre, this Tony Award-winning musical tells the true story of the five days following September 11, 2001 in Gander, New Foundland where 7,000 stranded passengers were met with overwhelming human kindness in their time of need.

This week, authors Irene Sankoff and David Hein join Rabbi Pont for a conversation about how the show came to be and the impact that this spectacular show has had on them, on the artists who brought it to life, and the millions of people who have seen the show worldwide.

What can a 60-year-old play about drunk and sometimes spiteful American academics tell us about culture and race relations in Australia? Director Margaret Harvey shares her bold vision for Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf.

Also, we hear a performance from Black Brass, inspired by stories of resilience from Perth's African communities and we meet some of the real-life people whose generosity inspired the hit musical Come from Away.

I've created collateral across all forms of media internationally — small gigs to corporate — from cabaret shows at Joe’s Pub in New York to foreign exchange stores in Panama, menus in Paris, and theatrical campaigns in Dubai.

With a background as a painter and writer (as well as studies in art history, US presidential history, cinema studies, and typography — plus extensive travel) I get a thrill every time I am able to meld both references and skills into arresting visual solutions; the more arrows in your quiver, the better your chances at hitting the bullseye.
