“you are what you listen to” is a phrase my mum would drill into me as a child. 

did it truly understand what it meant? no. 

do i understand it now as i reflect on the things i consumed and how they impacted me, both mentally & spiritually? yes. 

but it’s a road that i don’t ever think i’ll get to the end of. we have to convict ourselves constantly about our mental diet and whether it’s glorifying to God. 

in this episode, we delve into what things we need to be mindful of, such as TV, social media, influencers, politics, and music, as well as the things i personally have been convicted on.

becoming a Christian at 18 was an experience i'd never take back, but Christian or not, being 18 you're automatically stupid. 

i made a lot of mistakes in my early Christian days and had an undeveloped, selfish understanding of God where i made everything about me. God was a genie who, although i loved, i didn't love Him enough to surrender my plans to. 

this podcast sets the tone of where i am at (well, where i am trying to be) and how i got to this place, whilst giving you scriptural advice on how you can do the same.

Journey Companions exists to help develop communities of grace that care for the souls of others, which results in spiritual deepening led by the Holy Spirit.

The evidence of this is men and women who are being transformed and are intent on building missional communities that reflect Christ’s love to lost people. (Acts 2:42)

We see ourselves as companions along the journey toward transformational, missional communities and deeper, more personal individual relationships with Jesus.

We come alongside people in existing relationships, whether churches or community groups, leadership teams or families, to offer training in Soul Care and doing the “one anothering” of the Bible. We as a team have tasted what it means to be in authentic, gospel rich community, and we want to share that taste with others.

Rebekah Samuel has felt the Lord calling her to put her gifts to work through many avenues. Ben Rhodes, is someone who knew from a very young age that he wanted to be in a ministry-related field, but not sure where his calling would lead.  After he began working at his job in the medical devices industry, he soon found out that there was a seminary just down the road and would soon become a part-time student.
