The First Conclave of the Sistine Chapel - how did the Church develop this way of electing a Pope and what happens
This episode we have The Rangemaster Chess Club on the show; Lee Weems of First Person Safety, John Hearne of Two Pillars Training and Erick Gelhaus of Cougar Mountain Solutions. We do a run down of their inaugural Cognitive Conclave course (Experience) which was an immersive body of lectures and live fire drills that teach the clients to think with a gun in their hand. The live fire drills used various methods of cognitive stacking adding pressure testing to gun handling, and force shooters to make proper decisions under novel stress.

Joel Denver is the owner, publisher and president of All Access.com. If you work in radio, broadcasting and now podcasting, you likely have visited the All Access dot com website for industry news. Way back once computers began to take up room on the desk at and internet speeds hit 56k, you might have gone searching for radio industry news and found mainstays like R&R behind a paywall and Billboard Online just recently launched. All Access has always been free, always online and stays connected with it's users with a free job board, music access and more. In short, it is worth parting with your contact information for All Access.
In this episode, you will hear how Joel found his way to the intersection of radio, music and technology. We also spoke about the good and bad about pre-pandemic radio, and what it is going to take to get us all back together in the same room for a fun convention. I also mentioned that Joel is a fun Twitter follow - so give him a follow.

It's no wonder that Kipper McGee wound up in radio have grown up in between two great radio markets in Milwaukee and Chicago. He's a broadcast consultant, author and host of the Brandwidth on Demand podcast alongside David Martin. The show has been in production for as long as this show has, and it has an A list of broadcasters appearing for what turns out to be, "not your average quarter hour".
In this episode, Kipper and I spoke about his years in places I have never been to. Des Moines, San Diego, and Orlando which I just recently went to for the first time. Asking innocuous questions about those places gave me some insight into the radio that was made. You won't be able to see Kipper in his usual places this summer because like the rest of us - he's at home. But you can connect with the podcast.
I was a guest on the podcast back in August of 2018.... (Where does the time go?)

Mandy James is the morning show host with Pat PT Thomas and Mike Dubs on Entercom's Buz'n @ 102.9 in Minneapolis. I've gotten to know Mandy over the last few years at the Conclave Summer Learning Conference. I watched as she bravely networked her way through the room in 2017, eventually giving me a gift bag complete with a Conclave survival kit which include a small bottle of something flavourful when 5pm kicked in. She also asked hard questions to industry leaders that needed answering as it pertains to what companies are doing about advancing females in the radio business. Coincidentally, Cox Media unveiled a corporate strategy to address that while we were recording the podcast.
In this episode, we talked about he path from listening to WLOL 99-and-a-half as a child led to stints in Iowa, Wisconsin, Rockford, Illinois and now she's back in the Twin Cities. A lot of what we spoke about stems from our passion in attending the Conclave, so you will hear it come up more than once. Finally, how does she find the bravery to ask hard questions?
Mandy was featured in two blogposts stemming from her question at Conclave 42. The original here.
