The Making and The Meeting of The Maker with Sheila Szilagyi-Noseworthy

The Making and The Meeting of The Maker with Sheila Szilagyi-Noseworthy

Today on Ep 17. of Cracked I’m joined by Sheila Szilagyi Noseworthy! This part glass artist, part glass engineer  and glass architect recently appeared as a competitor on the very first stained glass competition show ever on Discovery Plus, The Meet Your Maker Showdown. From glass clutches, to surfboards, to wearable shoes to bridal bouquets, this artist knows no glass ceiling for what’s possible to create. Today we discuss her experience on the show and THERE ARE SPOILERS so if you don’t want to know who wins yet put this episode on hold. We’ll also talk about favorite self care practices, her recent discovery and love of the cosplay world, and the surprising place she’s finding most of the tools and supplies for her glass and mosaic art. Hint: There’s one in your town!

Protect ya neck! Trademark and Copyright Q&A with Nicole Swartz of Sprout Law

Protect ya neck! Trademark and Copyright Q&A with Nicole Swartz of Sprout Law

Ep. 14 - As an artist, there’s so much mystery around copyright and trademarking your designs and it can all feel very overwhelming, so today I’m talking to a lawyer who specializes in exactly this. Her name is Nicole Swartz and she’s going to clear up some of the misconceptions out there and answer your questions. I won’t be making a habit of having guests that aren’t stained glass artists but I really am seeing and hearing this topic everywhere lately and so this episode is a TIME OUT, everyone set down your tools, and LISTEN.

In fact, if you only listen to only 1 episode of Cracked, THIS SHOULD BE THE ONE. I also encourage you to forward this episode to any of your maker friends who don’t do glass because 99% of this information is applicable to their work as well.

My wish for each and every one of you is that you never find yourself in a copyright pickle, and after hearing this episode you will have some tools to avoid the headache of a design fight. I actually intended to release this episode much later in the season but after recording it I decided it’s just too valuable to keep to myself, I needed to release it as soon as possible.

    So without further ado...

Join me as I crack it all wide open!
