    Ayurveda 101 with Alonga World

    Ayurveda 101 with Alonga World

In this week's episode I welcome Ingrid and Cecilia Reygers, mother and daughter  , co-founders of Alonga World and bath passionate about health and the Vedic sciences. Their story is incredible and extremely eclectic and inspirational to say the least.

Enjoy as we discuss the basics of Ayurveda as well as how to make it accessible for you at home with simple practices and habits.

    Behind Alonga

Raised in Brazil and inspired by her great interest in health and natural ways of living, Ingrid pursued her education as an Ayurvedic therapist. Her youngest daughter Cecilia, after her business degree, attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition to become a holistic nutrition coach. With this knowledge and the vision to spread a healthy lifestyle through a natural diet, mother and daughter founded the creative family business ALONGA®, an exclusive manufactory for exquisite Ayurvedic spice mixtures and a center for yoga, Ayurvedic knowledge transfer and holistic health coaching.

In the development and processing of their products, they are guided by deep conviction in uncompromising quality, sustainability and the millennia-old science of Ayurvedic teachings. The health aspects of Ayurveda as well as the incredible variety of taste are the incentives when Ingrid and Cecilia, as a kind of 'alchemists of flavors', create, hand- roast and process their spice blends.

The gentle roasting and crushing process of the exclusively organic certified spices retains the essential oils and natural flavors. This process makes ALONGA® products a unique taste experience.

Ross & Ramona Headifen On Tackling Our Plastic Problem Head On

Ross & Ramona Headifen On Tackling Our Plastic Problem Head On

"We have these country divisions, but when you look at Earth from space, there's no such thing, it's just one little, lone beautiful planet that we need to all look after."

Today we are chatting with Ross and Ramona Headifen. A couple based in Port Melbourne who have become local legends by picking up over half a million pieces of rubbish, that’s 2 tonnes of plastic over the course of a few years on the same 55m stretch of beach, that’s insane. They're part of a clean up crew called Beach Patrol to further this initiative. Their hard work has been featured on 9 News and The Herald Sun. This conversation took all all around the big issue that is plastics. From the clean ups, production, Australia’s systems and how we can move forward with new solutions. Unlike plastic, this conversation will not be a waste of your time. More than anything you’ll get to here from some everyday heroes that get up every day and try to make this world into a better place.

And from that place you will feel more grounded."

Bill Muir On Being A Vegan Sargeant & The Role Of Militancy

Bill Muir On Being A Vegan Sargeant & The Role Of Militancy

"Anything that's going to hold people back in any way, from eating plant-based, is a road block to progress."

Today we are chatting to Bill Muir, AKA Sergeant Vegan. As the name suggests, Bill is a combat veteran. He’s also a registered nurse and speaker. Bill is someone who has a very unique story, being plant based since 1992 he’s gone through war zones and army training eating exclusively plants. I love Bill's confidence and demeanour, amongst the societal belief that veganism is for feminine individuals, Bill literally takes that concept and throws it out the window. I think everyone will take a little bit out of this episode, but I hope in particular the men listening can really extinguish any belief left in them that they are feminine because they don’t eat animal body parts. This conversation will have us talking about the battlefield, his experience in the army, following your ethics and being a militant activist.
