Hasturmart: From the Brink of Extinction to Universal Evolution

Could you imagine the end of the universe as we know it? Could you fathom the idea of awakening an ancient dreamer, so powerful, its stirring could terminate existence itself? This week, we invite you to a riveting dialogue between Azathoth and Hastur that might turn your reality upside down. Their poignant exchange circles around the imminent end brought by the awakening of Azathoth. Ari, possessing a key to the next universe, battles with a harrowing choice - to leave or to perish. However, Nyarlothotep has his own cosmic ace up the sleeve.

Transitioning from the looming apocalypse, we're shifting our focus to the elder gods, who are pondering over the blueprint of a fresh universe. A reality where the bond of family and unity is the cornerstone. Prepare yourself for the victorious journeys of Yog-sothoth and The Great Goat, and for the surprising career pivot of Cthulhu. As an added bonus, we'll even take you behind the scenes into Haster's evolution into a universal shopping hub. So brace yourselves, we're about to take a wild ride into the depths of ancient worlds, celestial deities, and the indomitable will to persist.

Final Friday: Call Girl of Cthulhu (2014)

Final Friday: Call Girl of Cthulhu (2014)

When virgin artist, Carter, develops feelings for a call girl, she is selected to be Cthulhu's bride and summon an ancient one. It's up to Carter to stop a group of cultists and their leader from their plot to doom the world.

Call Girl of Cthulhu was a welcome surprise. It was a joy to see a nice comedic spin on the Cthulhu mythos. The film had a great set of characters and had a charm that we really enjoyed. We were very happy to give this one a watch as it was a fun ride all the way through. Watch the movie and catch our review.

249 - H.P. Lovecraft, the Cthulhu Mythos, and the Horror You Love Today

Hope you have as fun listening to this one as I had making it! I had no idea prior to digging into this topic, that Lovecraft was so influential on modern horror. Like Stranger Things? Heavily influenced by Lovecraft. Like Stephen King's It? The cosmic monster who presents as Pennywise is a creature who could have come directly from the Cthulhu mythos. Much of the Twilight Zone, the X-Files, the BBC's Black Mirror and more - so influenced by Lovecraft. And, in a way, fictional universes like the Marvel cinematic universe and George Lucas's Star Wars universe - influenced by the cosmic worldbuilding of Lovecraft. We feel a lot of his influence today - but who was the man? We'll take a look at that as well - including the ugly parts. And we'll meet some of his creatures and dissect the structure of some of Lovecraft's most influential stories. A very Weird Tales edition of Timesuck awaits!

    The Shadow Out of Nate

    The Shadow Out of Nate

The following audio sample was found in the library of Miskatonic University. It was late and I was the last student to leave. Most of the electric lighting was off. Only the blasphemous glow of the gibbous moon pouring through the windows provided illumination. There it was. A laptop sitting adjacent to a still opened copy of the dreaded Necronomicon. The laptop was unlocked and Audacity was open on the screen. After nearly 30 minutes of waiting for the owner to return my curiousity got the better of me. I played the shadow-haunted audio clip. I wish I never had. I mean nothing bad happened in the audio clip, but later on I found out that I had early-onset fishman syndrome and that was 30 minutes of life I really could have used back. Anyway, Imma go chill with Dagon soon, check this weird clip out.
