Celebrate our 4 year anniversary as we are joined by Howard Johnson and Doug Scheiding with great baseball and excellent barbecue talk and Leonard and Jeff reminiscence about the last year.
Howard Johnson aka HoJo as millions of baseball fans affectionately call him is back and helping us celebrate our anniversary. We have a great time discussing baseball and barbecue with this outstanding player on two World Series winning teams, a three-time member of the 30-30 club, and a two-time All-Star. He must be very fond of us, because he agreed to join us on his birthday. He agreed to join us, but not to sit still as he ran around the house and then quickly got into a car which whisked him away to a birthday celebration while still talking to us. We got to sing him happy birthday, ask some baseball questions, and Doug gives him some barbecue tips.
Doug Scheiding first came onto the show almost two years ago and we said some of the following. That he was a true renaissance man. That he is the first rocket scientist we have had as a guest. That he is pitmaster of the award-winning competition barbecue team, Rogue Cookers, embedded correspondent on The BBQ Central Show, Traeger Pellet Grills representative, and Head Country brand ambassador. That he is also an avid Chicago Cubs fan and quite a knowledgeable baseball fan. We said it then and we will say it now that he is just one of the nicest guys, in barbecue or out, that you would ever want to meet. We are so happy to celebrate our anniversary with Doug and listen as he gives our baseball champion, HoJo some winning barbecue tips.
Jeff has a baseball rant and Leonard and Jeff reminiscence about the last year.
We conclude the show with the beautiful song, "Baseball Always Brings You Home" from the musician, Dave Dresser and the poet, Shel Krakofsky.
