Daimon's solo title ends with a fascinating mash-up of a story written for the more Marvel's mature black and white Curtiss magazines but was instead re-worked by unseen hands to make it suitable for the drugstore spinner rack. With his ancestral Fire Lake home a smoldering ruin, Daimon journeys to Washington, D.C., to interview for a position to head District U's new parasychology department. We meet a slew of new characters, including a demonically impish character named Profett, who reveals baffling and ominous visions to our hero during a much-needed nap.

We put a pin in Daimon's bizarre saga with The Possessor for a Bill Mantlo-penned one-and-done with The Thing in the nearby Arizonan Old West ghost town of Lawless, where Ben Grimm has been sent by Reed Richards on New Year's Eve to investigate some needle-burying energy readings. It seems the ghost of outlaw Jedediah Ravenstorm is behind the hauntings, but there is more going on here than meets the eye.
