It’s a scorcher out there, even up here in New England.  I got the NCM summer kickoff ready for ya.  It’s not a throw your hands up in the air type mix, but more of a listen and feel good for the beach, backyard, patio, deck mix. Everything is Green out and so is one of my favorite literary short stories.  I had to give an ode to that as the title.  Thank you Angela Swenson from San Antonio, Texas for the work of art used for this episode of NCM.  Hope you all enjoy the feel good tunes.

Nocturnes 1.0. And the  Night moves on...

Nocturnes is French for Nightly.. The great Chopin named some of his pieces "Nocturnes", far from me to draw any sort of kinship yet put this set on, dim the lights, grab a book, read, meditate or just chill.

For all the Nightcrawlers. Readers and other sleep-impaired creatures out there!

Deep and Progressive with a hint of very soft trance..From 99 to 120 bpm. A MUCH slower pace than what I usually serve.. Meant to relax the listeners.

I gave it a month ago to a young man, whose comment was " nice but not much schtick".. that's when I knew I sort of got it right ;)..

I have had it on my HD for more than a month but I could not decide whether I would go soulful or progressive.. Since I am suffering from whatever is the equivalent of writer's block for a DJ, I have decided to publish it and wait for inspiration to strike.. later

    "West End Girls".. nice to see this tune come back with a 2013 flavour still preserving the 80's groove.

    
    

    "Love So Deep" from Nubah may well be the aboslute gem of the set, driving bass and deep keys... Enjoy!

    
    

    "Over" by Maya Jane Coles.. MJC is most probably the best female DJ/Producer there is and she has that trouse feel I really dig.. As for the tune, I do not know if it is "house" but it is driving for sure, with great guitars and basslines.

    
    

    "Touching Me" by Finnebassen, one of the best release of 2012. So happy to have used it before it became too buried in all the new music!

    
    

    "Rain in My Heart" by Jane Maximova.. best I can describe is "Chilled Balearic Trance" very CDM and reminds me of early Chicane.

    
    

    "Our Discovery" by Henry Saiz, continuing the balearic mood is a progressive little gem. which could belong to the original Cafe del Mar (CDM) serie.

    
    

    "Sexy Biest" by Stimming and Aavid August, very, very sexy deep, progressive tune and I feel my edit is doing the tune justice.

    
    

    The last 2 tracks, "Wildlife" and "Tell Me Stories" wrap up the nocturnal mood in a nice chill yet progressive groove.

Faster, Harder but Fun!  I am still in reboot & discovery mode but you can start dusting off your dancing shoes because with Transitions 2.0 ... we are cranking it up a bit.

My intention was similar to the previous one.. but I am starting to have fun with those tracks.. It's Progressive House & Progressive Indie Rock.. with a touch of Trance here and there..

Highlights: all tracks are quality tunes in their own right. The Armin’s jam is a fitting intro track. I think “Torpor” is a great track presenting what good progressive house ought to be. “Noor” may be the discovery of the set for me. As for “Dice” nice to hear some actual electric guitars (not electronic ones) pervading the House/Trance scene.

 I had fun with this one and do believe it to be worth the space on your hard-drive
