Episode 35: Red Hot Chili Peppers vs Foo Fighters w/The Sports Desk (Round 2)

After a year of working alongside The Sports Desk in 2023, Jason invited the newest members of the crew, Jerry Ng and Liam Cole, two fellows who's music tastes are as far away from Rock n' Roll as you can get, joining him and Imran to talk Red Hot Chili Peppers and Foo Fighters. This battle is arguably a contest between the best albums both bands ever released, Californication and The Colour And The Shape. Complete with multiple songs that have gone on to define each band's identity. It's a big risk to see if it is even possible to pick between them. Let's find out.

    Debts-cember 2023 Part 2 - 8 Lazy Nights IV

    Debts-cember 2023 Part 2 - 8 Lazy Nights IV

Welcome to the Merry Month of Debts-cember!

Part 2 - 8 Lazy Nights IV - On this week's show, because I just didn't have it in me to pull off another extended show, we're dialing it back with one of our shortest episodes of the year! 8 songs (one for each night of Chanukah) plus a bonus track to represent the starter candle.

All this & much, much less!

Debts No Honest Man Can Pay is over 2 rock-solid hours of musical eclectica & other noodle stories. The show started in 2003 at WHFR-FM (Dearborn, MI), moved to WGWG-FM (Boiling Springs, NC) in 2006 & Plaza Midwood Community Radio (Charlotte, NC) in 2012, with a brief pit-stop at WLFM-FM (Appleton, WI) in 2004.

Rock n Roll Grad School #118 Native Howl's Mark Chandler

You might have seen The Native Howl on the YouTube series No Cover (where they won the competition and were praised by judges Alice Cooper and Gavin Rossdale among others). They call their music 'thrashgrass,' a combination of thrash metal and bluegrass. And if that isn't enough, next month they're entering into famed Studio 606 (owned by the Foo Fighters) to record their next record.

With everything going their way, we sat down with  bassist Mark Chandler to talk about the band and what they're up to. For more information, check out their website and follow them on Facebook.

Milestone Month: Stand by Me / Man Crush List / Top 5 Stephen King Things

We've got a lot packed into this one. Dave is back and one of his favorite people is Stephen King. We begin with our Man Crush Mt. Rushmores, or ManCrushmores. Who else made the lists? Who kept Dave Grohl from being a unanimous choice?

Then we talk about 1986's Stand By Me, based on a Stephen King novella. What do we remember about this movie? How about that great young cast? Why is Kiefer Sutherland so creepy? To keep with the King theme, we finish by sharing our top 5 lists of his work (books, movies, series, etc.).

Min tone i livet: Karen Cecilie Cæsar - Nirvana m.fl., Where Did You Sleep Last Night

Min tone i livet: Karen Cecilie Cæsar - Nirvana m.fl., Where Did You Sleep Last Night
Men kun indtil hun opdagede "Where Did You Sleep Last Night" eller "In the Pines", som den nogle steder bliver kaldt.
