This week, Ben and Will review the 2005 Jim Henson Company fantasy film, MirrorMask. This strange and trippy movie was penned by famed writer and storyteller Neil Gaiman and directed by artist Dave McKean. Join us as we enter this bizarre CGI world and try to make sense of a rather...interesting plot. The Space to Carol spectrum debate heats up with this one as both the Puppet Masters have very different takes on this unusual cult film. 

In which we discuss some work by Neil Gaiman!  Sandman recently hit Netflix and we decided to get a little topical!  A few weeks later, but better late than never, eh?  We discuss how the book came together, we talk about themes, we talk about another book that Neil Gaiman did as well called Books of Magic!  This isn't a super-deep dive, but it should be fun nonetheless!

Why is Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman the most important comic book series of all time?

Fortress of Solitude’s Sergio Pereira is joined by SFF author and editor Nerine Dorman to discuss the importance of Morpheus, Dream of the Endless, and how Gaiman’s work with his various collaborators created comics beyond the norm. 

From changing DC Comics to becoming a centrepiece of Vertigo Comics, The Sandman signalled a change of guard for the industry. Along with Dave McKean’s jaw-dropping covers and outstanding artwork from the likes of Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg, there’s no denying that this is one series that every comic book fan should read at least once in their lifetime.
