King David loves Star Control 2, vegetables, dreaming, babies, and chopping. Also, sharp criticism for Panesonic's aggressively priced 3DO. Music: Starbase*, Shining Singing You (love theme from Salamander Leviathan), Chopping Vegetables, Knife Girl and Vegetable Man (I Still Think About You), I Got a Broken Heart (Baby), Baby Plz Take Me Back 2 the Neighborhood. *from the 3DO version of Star Control 2 http://davidspegasus.com - stop by and leave King David a "shout-out"!

    House of Burdens Episode 1

    House of Burdens Episode 1
Well, we've blogged, we've done online video, and now here's the first Burden family podcast. The audio's good in spots, not so great in others - I was only playing around with the software and not really intending on doing a whole-family bit, so I only had one mic hooked up and had to compress the heck out of the audio to get the high bits low enough to bring the low bits up high enough. I'm using Audacity, which is free open-source multi-track recording software - not as much juice as my Fostex digital eight-track or N-Track studio, but much simpler to use and perfect for this kind of application. A note: you have to download lame_enc.dll separately to export the MP3 format with Audacity, here's where to find a copy. I didn't know the name when I started messing around with this, but since Kris and I have settled on House of Burdens. In this premier episode: Audacity software, Rescue Heroes, VBAC, pregnancy update, David and Sofia on scatological humor, David's Australian accent and more.

Preparations for St David's Day (Dydd Gwyl Dewi) 2007

Preparations for St David's Day (Dydd Gwyl Dewi) 2007
Preparations and competitions for St David's Day ( March 1st) are well under way at Cefn Fforest Primary, as they will be at all schools in Wales as the big day approaches. We had 3D model dragons made at home by Year 3 pupils (and helpers), taking up every available shelf in Main School. Also there were musicians practicing in any space they could find - choirs and dancers using their play times to prepare as we look forward to a day of Welsh Crafts and activities and an Eisteddfod ( Cultural Competitions) - which will include the chairing of the Cefn Fforest Bard ( Year 6 poet of the Year)
