The Canon of the Bible (Pt.3) - Paul M. Williams

How We Got Our Bible (Pt.7)

By what authority did the early Christians add additional books to the canon of Holy Scripture?  How did they recognise these additional books as Scripture?  Why 27 books of the New Testament and not 26 or 28?  If the Old Testament was attested to by no less authority than Jesus Christ Himself, then by what authority was the New Testament received?  Did a council of bishops convene in the 4th century to decide which books would make up the New Testament?  If not, then how did the New Testament come to be developed?  We endeavour to answer these questions in this teaching, and as we shall see, the issue of the New Testament canon cannot be tackled without placing central, the Lord Jesus Christ Himself!!

With the season over, we decided it was a good time to wonder about the Royals front office, focusing on the way David Glass runs the team, and the difference between running a team to win and running a team as a business. Of course, Glass has said he's willing to pay up to upgrade the starting rotation, so with that in mind, we bounced ideas around as to who the Royals may target, what kind of trades may be necessary, and also took inventory of the Royals pitching prospects just in case any of those could be contributors (or at least to guess at the timetable for when they might be). Finally, we delved into pure baseball nerddom while discussing our experiments as GM of the Royals on the baseball simulation game Out of the Park Baseball.
