En marzo de este año la selección femenina dominicana de futbol sub-20 llegó hasta las semifinales del clasificatorio de CONCACAF al mundial de la categoría. Lynette Ureña fue parte de ese equipo, cuya juventud y entusiasmo genera la ilusión que aquel campeonato es el punto de partida de una generación que dará futuras alegrías a su país.
Lynette es amante del futbol desde pequeña, lo practicó con éxito a nivel colegial y de clubes y su constancia la ha llevado a jugar por el equipo de Delaware State University, siendo la única jugadora internacional de equipo, y la primera jugadora nacida en territorio dominicano en jugar en la Division 1 de la NCAA en Estados Unidos.
Porque aun podemos conversar, Lynette nos cuenta cómo surgió su pasión por el fútbol, cómo vivió aquel campeonato jugado en marzo en Santo Domingo y lo contenta que está en Delaware con su familia de las Hornets. La pasión y convencimiento que Lynette transmite en cada una de sus palabras sólo hace presagiar lo mejor para ella en el futuro.
