Caio Borralho, is Leon Edwards’ gym justified for banning Ian Machado Garry?

Caio Borralho, is Leon Edwards’ gym justified for banning Ian Machado Garry?

Jim Norton returns for this Wednesday’s episode of UFC Unfiltered alongside Matt Serra to a show that invites rising Brazilian middleweight Caio Borralho on ahead of his fight on Saturday’s card in São Paulo.

Borralho, who is set to fight middleweight Abus Magomedov on Saturday’s UFC Fight Night: Almeida vs. Lewis card, dishes his thoughts on his upcoming fight — unpacking the stylistic matchup before dishing his thoughts on his opponent’s most recent outing against Sean Strickland.

On the topic of Strickland, Borralho explains what it was like sparring the newly-crowned UFC middleweight champion as he explains the thought process behind his accurate pre-fight prediction that nailed the outcome of Israel Adesanya’s loss to Strickland at UFC 293.

To wrap up the show, Matt and Jim strike a conversation regarding Leon Edwards and whether the UFC welterweight champion’s gym was justified in disallowing Ian Machado Garry to continue training there.

UFC 291 Recap! Round-Up with Paul Felder & Michael Chiesa

UFC 291 Recap! Round-Up with Paul Felder & Michael Chiesa

Paul Felder and Michael Chiesa are back at it again on this episode of UFC Round-Up!

To start off the show, Michael reacts to his loss at UFC 291 this past Saturday against welterweight Kevin Holland and discusses what went wrong.

Next, the guys break down other fights in the UFC 291 card, including the main event as lightweight Justin Gaethje defeated Dustin Poirier with an exciting head-kick KO for the BMF belt. Following that, the pair hit on the co-main event, where Alex Pereira beat Jan Błachowicz in a close split decision and look ahead to why Alex Pereira vs. Jiří Procházka is the next fight to make for the vacant light heavyweight title. Then, the duo break down heavyweight Derrick Lewis’ first-round TKO over Marcos Rogério de Lima. The guys also touch on lightweight Bobby Green’s late submission victory over Tony Ferguson, plus they hit on if the eye poke by Bobby Green looked intentional or not.

Then, the duo answer 5 rounds of fan questions.

    1. What are your guys’ thoughts on Conor McGregor stealing Justin Gaethje’s spotlight Saturday?

    2. Who deserves a title shot, Justin Gaethje or Charles Oliveira? Does Alex Pereira deserve to be a title contender at 205 or does he need one more win?

    3. Is Derrick Lewis the most entertaining heavyweight ever?

    4. What’s your stance on the weight cut? Would you have done what Stephen Thompson had done?

    5. How much money would it take you to do a shoey from Derrick Lewis’ cup?

Jamahal Hill, McGregor vs. Chandler, looking ahead to UFC 284 with guest co-host Bruce Buffer

Jamahal Hill, McGregor vs. Chandler, looking ahead to UFC 284 with guest co-host Bruce Buffer

It’s pay-per-view fight week! With merely five days remaining until UFC 284, official Octagon announcer Bruce Buffer hops in as a guest co-host for the duration of today’s episode of UFC Unfiltered and also recently-crowned UFC light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill joins.

Bruce dishes his thoughts on Dana White’s bombshell announcement that not only is former UFC double champion Conor McGregor set to return as a coach on this upcoming 31st season of The Ultimate Fighter, but that the coach on the opposite side of the Irish superstar will be none other than exciting lightweight contender Michael Chandler.

While the guys wait until Jamahal Hill hops on the show, Bruce opens up about how his upbringing in Philadelphia helped foster his early affinity for mixed martial arts as both a practitioner and a consumer.

Buffer then talks about his friendship with coach Ray Longo — and as luck would have it, Ray calls Matt during the show, who jokingly accosts Ray for spending too much time with Buffer and not enough time with him.

Finally, Jamahal Hill joins the show live from the UFC Performance Institute with an idea of what’s in store for his first light heavyweight title defense. And as Jamahal’s call ends, the guys briefly recap last Saturday’s UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Spivac card and look ahead to Saturday’s UFC 284 event in Australia.

Joining first as a guest caller is 15th-ranked UFC heavyweight Blagoy Ivanov, who reflects on how his near-death experience from a stabbing that hospitalized him for three months has shaped him into the mentally tough fighter he is today.

Ivanov wraps up his interview by previewing his matchup with 10th-ranked heavyweight Marcin Tybura.

The crew are then joined by their second heavyweight caller of the day, 12th-ranked Serghei Spivac, who alongside his translator discusses what a win against popular heavyweight contender Derrick Lewis can do for his career.
