Importance of Digital Equity for True Progress

Importance of Digital Equity for True Progress

The internet has become more ubiquitous than ever before. The National Digital Inclusion Alliance defines digital equity as “a condition in which all individuals and communities have the information technology capacity needed for full participation in our society, democracy, and economy.” Sridhar Krishna talks to Raghav Rao, a Digital Innovation Fellow at The Cleveland Foundation, and Aarushi Kataria on the role of digital – whether it is an enabler or a divider.

Why corporates fail to win in the informal market, digitising the township, kasinomics & more | Richard Charlie

Why corporates fail to win in the informal market, digitising the township, kasinomics & more | Richard Charlie

This week I had the absolute pleasure of bumping into Richard Charlie. Richard Charlie is your go to guy for understanding the township and why Corporates fail to unlock the value in the informal sector. He is currently the Route to Market specialist for a large multinational in the fortune 500. I really enjoyed chatting with Richard where he dropped many gems.

In this insightful episode we speak about :

    - How big the informal market is & why our government doesn’t embrace it where other African countries clearly promote their informal sector.

    - What big corporates get wrong about the informal market

    - How corporate can win in the informal market.

    - Which big players are actually doing well in the informal market.

    - What is exactly digitizing the informal market.

And As always we go deep.

I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did. As always if this episode adds any value or you think someone in corporate, small business or even a friend who wants to expand their knowledge on the informal sector, please do share and comment and tag them.

Stay Safe and continue to light up the dark my friends.

How a South African is Digitising the informal market in Asia | Andrzej 'Oggy' Ogonowski

This week, I bumped into Andrzej Ogonowski otherwise known as Oggy. Oggy has helped build one of the fastest growing startups in the Philippines. He is the Head of Product at GrowSari which is growing to be one of the biggest retail networks in the Philippines without owning any retail outlets. Simply put an Uber for Retailers.

We chat in detail in how GrowSari grew, its triumphs and shortcomings. He also shares some advice & tools he uses in business which you can also use in your own life.

And as always, in true I bumped into style we go deep, where I ask him questions such as what would he do differently if he knew nobody would judge him, and how would he measure his life.

I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed interviewing Oggy, and as always if you have any feedback on the show, please let us know.
