    Griz Gusto- All the Same

    Griz Gusto- All the Same
Georges Baguidy, also known as Griz Gusto, was raised in Waltham, MA/Orlando, FL. Despite being born in Waltham, Griz's roots run deep into the Caribbean islands. Born to two Haitian parents, Griz proudly claims and represents the Haitian-American community. His earliest music inspirations were Biggie and Lil Wayne. The first time he heard a song by Notorious B.I.G was when a girl from his neighborhood would ride around on her BMX bike blasting "Juicy" off a boombox. He was mind blown by Biggie's flow and style. Since then, he fell in love with Hip Hop music and the culture.

Griz found himself getting into trouble in and out of school and at the age of 15 his parents decided he needed a significant change. They forced Griz to move from Waltham, MA to Orlando, FL so he could get a change of scenery. A few years after finishing high school, he enlisted in the Army National Guard—which he still serves on a reserve status. Griz Gusto, S-Ko, and a third member, MassMoneyFaith, formed Mass Money Entertainment. Griz Gusto is considered the most versatile of the group. His versatility makes him unpredictable on the mic– which gives him an edge over today's new artists. He brings a different type of confidence and swagger to his music and Mass Money as a whole. Griz entered 2019 hungrier to succeed than ever, and he's ready to raise the bar for all new Rap artists in not only Massachusetts, but across the nation. His latest project "Talk to Me" was released on April, 21st in which fans can expect a variety of fresh music with a catchy vibe for every mood.

    PhilAhsophie- Coming Up

    PhilAhsophie- Coming Up
I am PhilAhsophie, a recording artist. I am originally from Kansas City, Missouri, but I live in Austin, TX. I started my career by performing Hip-hop at house parties and other venues around town. Later I began to record voice tracks. My art form is comparable to inspirational rap-poetry - with music of course and can be therapeutic for some and motivational for others. I enjoy sharing my passion with the masses, and I don't do this for the limelight or to prove anything to anyone. I sincerely enjoy articulating words that I have composed with the public. If people enjoy my music then I'm cool and it makes me very happy. If not, hopefully my newest work, whatever it may be, may sway critics to enjoy what I do and to listen whole-heartedly to the words of my songs. I am unique and I do not attempt to follow any trends. I am simply authentic with my craft. I can also say that my tracks would be more on the socially conscious side. I like to touch on different topics that everyday people can relate. I also aim to deliver positive vibes and uplifting messages. I just like to make music that anybody can enjoy hearing without any negative content that would mislead our youth. My music is for the soul and to enlighten. Thank you for reading and be assured that more music will follow, and I DO appreciate your online support, Continue to enjoy or follow me as I hope to elevate my music to another level of enjoyment.

    Komie- Aurora Dawning (Feat Idrise)

    Komie- Aurora Dawning (Feat Idrise)
Komie's latest single, Aurora Dawning (Feat. Idrise), is a sweeping, melodic and inspiring pop song featuring the talented up-and-coming vocalist, Idrise. The single, slated for release on June 7th 2019, follows Komie's well-received instrumental album, Afterglow. Komie is a two-time Emmy award-winning guitarist, composer and producer who has created music for hit television shows like Ozzy Osbourne's World Detour and The Amazing Race.

Aurora Dawning draws inspiration from Afterglow, but the single's vocal component sets it apart from the latter. The song pays homage to the Aurora Borealis, the magical celestial events that famously occur near the Arctic and Antarctic regions. Komie, in a characteristically thoughtful and metaphysically inspired tone, poetically conveys the interplay between star-crossed lovers amidst an emotively dramatic backdrop of stellar guitar playing.

    Dru Yates- Stay Fly

    Dru Yates- Stay Fly
YOU CAN'T MAKE IT" are words that ARE NOT in Ahmed "Dru" Yates vocabulary! Born in Germany in 1985, Dru is the Son of an Army Veteran, who a few years after Dru's birth, separated from Dru's Mother and left her and her five children to fend for themselves. Relocating to New York in 1989, Young Dru quickly discovered a passion for music as an escape from the world around him and as a means to express himself through song.

Dru's Mother began to notice her Sons' desire to entertain and frequently began entering him in local "Star Search" style musical competitions. She also often had Dru perform for family and friends at social functions and gatherings to aid in developing his confidence and stage presence. In 1991, in an effort to shield Dru and her other children from the life of the City streets, Dru's Mother relocated her and her children to Kansas. Though this was a major geographical change for the family, Dru continued to develop his craft, and immersed himself into his music.

Having local success performing with his brothers, who were also aspiring rappers/entertainers, Dru had a taste of success and knew that he had what it took to make it in the music industry. He was on cloud 9 and ready to make major moves! But, in 2000, Dru's world was shaken to the core, when his older brother was arrested and charged with attempted murder and sentenced to 42 years in prison. It was then that Dru's passion for music changed. Overwhelmed over the physical loss of his brother John, Dru decided to take a break from music.

After graduating from High School, Dru briefly attended College on a basketball scholarship. But after only one year of playing ball, Dru began to feel like he was missing his true calling. Reconnecting with his desire of making great music and performing, Dru decided to step into the booth again. It was as if Dru had never put down his mic! The rush that he got from recording solidified his life's goals and aspirations of being an artist and performer. Dru recommitted himself to the music game, and soon after became a member of the 2 man Hip-Hop/R&B group S.O. Allstars, with is "brotha from anotha mutha" Redd.

Dru and Redd had moderate success in the release of several S.O. Allstars mixtapes. However, creative differences and conflict of interest began to wear on the group, and both Dru and Redd decided to go their separate ways in pursuing their solo careers.

Today, Dru continues to grind hard in continuing what he started so many years ago. Dru recently completing his second solo album,The Urban Resume, and is wrapping up his third solo project, "The Memorandum" that is scheduled to release in June 2019. Driven by the dreams of success and sheer determination, Dru is moving forward with his musical aspirations and he has no plans of slowing down as he reaches for his goals in the music industry.

---Below is a Nov. 24, 2017 article written by Molly Gilmore and published in THE OLYMPIAN newspaper---

"When they're not making ice cream, Trail and Joel Black are making jams.

The brothers from Shelton — who work at their parents' Olympic Mountain Ice Cream — are the heart of the reggae-fusion jam band High Ceiling, playing Saturday at the Capitol Theater.

"Our band is finally at a point where we can play at the Capitol Theater and get a big enough crowd out that it's going to be high energy," Trail Black said in a phone interview.

The show, celebrating the release of the band's third album, "Easy," will offer spectacle as well as sound, with a light show and an elaborate video backdrop projected on the theater's big screen.

This album — the band's first in eight years — is worthy of celebrating, said Black, who sings and plays guitar.

"In the last five years, we've had a group of people in the band who are just stellar musicians," he said. Along with Joel Black on bass and vocals, the current lineup includes Gabe Olson, also a founding member, on percussion; Frank Fox on drums; and Brad Schrandt on keyboards, saxophone and more. Guitarist Chris Stephanile, who played on "Easy," has since left both the state and the band.

"This album is definitely our best work and our most complete work," Trail Black said. "I feel like it's going to stand the test of time as our High Ceiling legacy."

Black said the band, which plays at many local...

    Sean McMorris- C'est La Vie

    Sean McMorris- C'est La Vie
Sean McMorris started life as the left-handed child of an American single mother in Paris, France. Music cast a spell early on, under the auspices of Elvis Presley, his very first idol. When offered a dollar for his rendition of "All Shook Up," five-year-old Sean balked; a few years later, he got a taste of his own medicine, when he took up singing and piano lessons with an honest-to-God nun who refused to indulge in frivolities such as McCartney's "Fool on The Hill" despite countless pleas. All these ironies might or might not have escaped him when he picked up a pair of drumsticks and learned to roll with bebop legend Kenny Clark. Once the borrowed piano in his bedroom was returned to its rightful owner, Sean turned to his mother's neglected nylon string guitar to quench his thirst for harmony.

Having graduated from the French lycée with a Baccalaureate in Economic and Social Studies, Sean was now free to pursue his musical explorations, which took him to the US. First stop, the Berklee College of Music with a letter of recommendation from none other than Leonard Bernstein (don't ask how!) After a year totally under the radar, he dropped out and joined Boston rock band Option One, experiencing his first taste of success. In true 80's fashion, all the limos, groupies, drugs and label interest from IRS Records guaranteed the band's eventual demise. When Sean's mother ran into Don Henley in an elevator in L.A., Mr. Henley recalled how badly he had starved in Beantown, which was exactly what her son was doing.

In an effort to put more food on his plate, Sean naively relocated to the Big Apple. He landed in an East Village apartment-share, conveniently located next to housing for the deaf, which meant his newly formed band PEG could economize by rehearsing in the living room! Together, they recorded and released a self-titled independent CD long before it was trendy to do so. Finally, Sean decided to do something practical and return to college to earn a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Drumming from City College (CCNY). On campus, he had the pleasure of performing for Ron Carter and John Patitucci. This eventually led to sharing the stage with performers such as Tony Award winner Bill Irwin and Richard Lloyd of Television, who also went on to produce The Blondes, Inc.'s eponymous album.

Today, Sean lives in Los Angeles writing music for TV Libraries and drumming for Billy Joseph & The Army of Love. His debut album Lo & Behold came out in 2013, fulfilling his lifelong ambition of joining the legion of successful left-handed drummers, Phil Collins and Don Henley. Elevated Man, his latest release, took flight on October 23, 2015. His third LP titled C'est La Vie came out April 2019!
