The film was part of the current trend toward docs featuring serious examination of entertainment properties, driven in part by crowdfunding on sites like Kickstarter. This week, we’re taking a look at a documentary on another important children’s television program, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. The doc Power of Grayskull: The Definitive History delves into the origins of the franchise from humble toy line to pop culture phenomenon. But does the film earn the right to wield the Sword of Power, or does it feel like a cheap store-brand knock-off? (That’s right, we’re looking at you, Arak: Son of Thunder.)
