Gospel Music Royalty - Drea Randle

Drea was discovered by the Prince of Gospel himself, John P. Kee.  She is a former Verity Records/Zomba Aritst. Her first solo album "Oo-Wee" amazingly sold 30,000 copies (that is even without touring) and charted on billboard a few years back.

Her life would soon change for the better when Kee offered her a major solo deal. Kee felt that the world still had not met the REAL DREA RANDLE. In 1999, Drea released her first album through verity Records entitled ” Ooo-Wee”. The project was produced by non-other than Kee. The album birthed such hits as “Ooo-Wee”, “Difference”, and of course, the funky composition “Bounce Back”. The success of her album resulted in her charting on Billboard and selling over 30,000 units.

Not soon after, more doors would soon open for her. Drea’s life would take another turn toward success. In 2003, Bishop T.D. Jakes invited Drea to be a lead vocalist on the T.D. Jakes & The Potter’s House “A Wing and A Prayer” Album where she lead the sassy and ever-popular tune “It’s Already Done”. This song garnered Drea her first national television appearance on the B.E.T Celebration of Gospel. Following that opportunity, she made an appearance on Myron Williams’ song “It All Works Together” from one of his most recent albums.

Her latest single, Do What's Right, is available on all digital outlets, and on all digital streaming platforms.

Episode 43: Know Your Values, Take a Stand

Episode 43: Know Your Values, Take a Stand

Have you ever heard the phrase, "Just because everyone is doing something does not make it right, and just because nobody is doing something does not make it wrong"? Do you get the feeling lately that we are being conditioned, or forced really, into a majority mentality, or else?

There will come a time, when good people who just want to be left alone are forced to take a stand. I want to be real clear, I don't mean "Take a Stand" in a physical fight kind of way, and I pray it does not come to that, but I mean Take a Stand in the sense that people who just want to be left alone to do their own thing and live their own life in peace are going to have to get involved because the tyranny of the majority continues to become more emboldened in forcing their will upon those with whom they disagree.

In last weeks episode, 10 Lessons I Will Pass On To My Children, I said in lesson 10, "know your values, and when you see wrong, take a stand". This is so important, and all too often, in an effort to keep the peace and stay off everyone's radar, good people do nothing when they see their values being violated for fear of becoming a victim of the cancel culture, mob mentality and social justice warrior bullying that is all to common these days. There will come a time when many good people who just want to be left alone will have to take a stand...

This week's feel good story comes to us from a site my wife brought to my attention called tanksgoodnews.com. This story happens to be about a youngster by the name of Cavanaugh Bell who was being bullied and found a creative and productive way to overcome that darkness it left inside of him. Hear more about young 7 year old Cavanaugh Bell's story on this week's podcast or check out the article I read here.

As I do every week, I ask you, “what have you done today to make your life a better life?, what have you done today to make the world a better place?” The world is a better place if we are better people, and that begins with each of us leading a better life. Be kind to one another, be grateful for everything you’ve got, and make each and every day the day that you want it to be!

#69: Dan Kleban | Maine Beer Company

#69: Dan Kleban | Maine Beer Company

They say to never meet your heroes, but this week proves that's poor advice. Dan Kleban, co-founder of Maine Beer Company, sits down with Noah and Matty. After some initial gushing about how generous Dan and his brother Dave were to get Noah and Pete into MBC's first space, the conversation shifts to the Dan's early experiences with beer (Sierra Nevada strikes again) and what laid the groundwork for what continues to be MBC's philosophy on the beer-making side of the business. Dan and Noah also get into their mutual roots as homebrewers and (early) brewing podcast listeners, as both Substance and Zoe begun their existence as thinly-veiled clone recipes. After discussing collaboration beers and the similar reasons both MBC and BBB do them less than most, things shift to Dan and his brewery's commitment to the environment. He talks about his inspiration for being a part of 1% For the Planet from the very start of his business, why customers are smarter than they are often given credit for, and the inertia that comes when you "Do What's Right". This fun, informative, and inspiring conversation with one of Noah and Matty's Dream Team brewers was simply a joy, and if anyone out there is looking for a role model, head to Route 1 in Freeport............  ........................ .................. ......................... .................. ........................ ....................... ........Music: "Mountain Climb" by Jake Hill
