    101: Delta and the Bannermen

    101: Delta and the Bannermen

    "Let's make this baby fly!"

Said the uncool and un-Welsh Welsh rock 'n' roller Billy, who refrains (perhaps disappointingly) from drop-kicking the Chimeron child over the Shangri-La camp's Olympic size swimming pool.

Yes, it's time to take a look at the distinctly odd Delta and the Bannermen, a tale of a baffling bee-keeper, unnecessary Americans, a shot-down stand-up and life-size plastic soldiers with lockjaw.

When will Ray realise that she's barking up the wrong tree? When will Billy realise he's sniffing around the wrong species? Will the Bannermen have a whip round to get Gavrok a barbecue? And can the Flying Pickets achieve further chart success now their leader has been reduced to smoking footwear?

Don't expect to find the answers here as Jim and Martin struggle to decide whether to mark the story hi-de-high or hi-de-low.

Mike Dodd, 1996 Olympic silver medalist, joins Paper Courts
He was there for beach volleyball's inaugural appearance in the Olympic Games -- and he came away with a silver medal. Mike Dodd, partnered with Mike Whitmarsh, cemented his legacy as one of beach volleyball's greats, though his legacy goes far beyond what he did on the court. He has since coached Jake Gibb and Sean Rosenthal in two more Olympic Games, and Dodd will discuss in depth his Olympic experiences as both a player and a coach.

JoJo Mac dropped big Secrets: Mixed Up Moods And Deadly Attitudes
In celebration of Women's History Month and Women's ONLY 1st Friday on the Ever Blazing Friday Show, musical diva JoJo Mac, formerly known as "Goldii" was Empress Skortcher's honored guest Friday March 6th 2015. During the hilariously, edutaining and insightful reasoning, JoJo Mac dropped big "Secrets Mixed Up Moods And Deadly Attitudes" on air. Under the brand JoJo Mac, she has added Author as a title to her many roles as she completes her first fictional novel. She is hoping to release the novel at the end of March 2015. JoJo has the tenacity to display versatility on any genre of rhythmic grooves and has a knack for being one with the beat. A native of Clarendon, Jamaica, she has been singing since age 3. In her youth, she migrated to the United States of America where she decided to seriously pursue a singing career. She started her very own band and began performing in the Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia tri-state areas. In her roles as singer & songwriter, JoJo Mac, would later release her first album, "Hard and Soft" on "Throb Music" label which was produced by Legendary Derrick "Duckie" Simpson of the group Black Uhuru. In 2002, veteran singer/songwriter Ernest Wilson heard her singing while hanging out at Big Ship studios and the following day introduced her to the late Clement "Coxsone" Dodd. After hearing her distinctive style in demo, JoJo Mac would go on to record several songs for the legendary Studio One Stable. JoJo Mac, continued recording and performing locally and internationally. In 2013, she released "Dance Floor" the EP, which shows a different side of her musically, with most of the songs being, just as the EP title suggests, leaves listeners moving on the dance floor. Critical Assignment 08: The Bionic Woman Preview

Critical Assignment 08: The Bionic Woman Preview

John returns with another Critical Assignment as he is joined by Jim Sherrard, Betsy Dodd (The Bionic Blonde), and Rod De Luca to give our listeners a little preview of The Bionic Woman before John and Paul review the series.  What should the two consider when it comes to reviewing this show?  What episodes, besides the iconic ones, should the two look out for in terms of good or bad?  What memories are there when it comes to this series?  It's a little primer to get us all excited for the next phase of Cyborgs: A Bionic Podcast.

James Sherrard is a first generation fan of The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman. A collector of all things Bionic as a child, his interest in the shows was reignited when the first Bionic reunion movie was produced in 1987. The following year he met stars Lindsay Wagner and Richard Anderson for the first time through Lindsay Wagner’s Official Fan Club.
In 1998, James reworked the Bionic Woman episode guide booklet that he had produced for the club into The Bionic Woman Files website…the longest running Bionic Woman site on the web!
Over the years, James has contributed his Bionic knowledge to various books, articles, websites, and television productions. He has also amassed an amazing collection of Bionic memorabilia, from common toys to one-of-a-kind production items. Most recently, James has contributed to the 2010 DVD releases of The Bionic Woman Season One and The Six Million Dollar Man: The Complete Collection. James resides in New York where he is employed by a non-profit organization.

    From Betsy Dodd's page:

Growing up in a one-TV household, I had 3 brothers who surrounded me in age—who often teased me for being a “sissy”—and who usually controlled the voting majority for which channel to watch. Back in the 70s, our whirling TV dial was pretty much destroyed because we fought over it so often. One night while the substitute pliers were pointed to their choice of The Six Million Dollar Man(again), suddenly there was OMG ...cue angelic chorus... Jaime Sommers, the world’s first Bionic Woman. Yes!!! Score one for us sissies! I was totally hooked. And the love story between Jaime and Steve was the best. Ever. But then they killed her the following week.

Why did I idolize Jaime Sommers so much? Just as the final season was being released on DVD in the fall of 2011, I stumbled onto some internet bionic fan forums and started posting these offbeat episode reviews.

I’m not sure, but when some members encouraged me to go start my own blog, I think it may have been the equivalent of being politely shunned by the Bionic Amish community— puritans of the franchise. (Really, I’m kidding. They’re all fun people and super nice. And they even let me use electricity to sign onto the internet.) Once about ten years ago, I belonged to an online fan “cult” that was framed in a similar style of farcical humor about The X-Files, so to me, this is all a completely normal approach to a television drama.

These days, I am a freelance copywriter, graphic designer and video editor living in Tennessee. No, I am not a blonde, but I am threatening to become one soon if these little gray hairs don’t stop surfacing. I must confess I also did not actually keep a diary in the 70s, but wish now that I had, so I could remember the real reason why I missed so many episodes of my favorite 70s show. For now, I’m blaming my brothers. For everything.

Rod De Luca is a long time Six Million Dollar Man and Bionic Woman fan who runs the Bionic or Bust: Locations of the Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman and Bionicon 40.0 The 40th Anniversary of the Bionic Woman pages on Facebook.  Rod will be appearing on future podcasts discussing various episodes of both shows.

    001 Learn Nothing Day

    001 Learn Nothing Day

Sandra Dodd always unschooled her kids.

Now they’re all grown up and independent, and Sandra spends her time writing and talking about unschooling and about how people learn.

Several years ago Sandra started a “holiday for unschoolers” on her birthday - July 24. This special day is called Learn Nothing Day.

Since unschoolers create a world for their kids where learning can happen all day every day, there are no school vacations and no days off from learning.

    Except on Learn Nothing Day.

The problem is, Learn Nothing Day is usually a complete flop.

The Return of The Bionic Woman, Part One

The Return of The Bionic Woman, Part One

Steve is injured on a mission and in need of bionic surgery.  While recovering he spots a woman who looks like Jaime.  But Jaime's dead.  Steve watched her die on the operating table.  What kind of sick game is Oscar and Rudy playing on him?!?

The good news - Jaime is alive.

The bad news - Jaime doesn't remember Steve or any part of her life before she came back to life.

To make matters worse, the young doctor who came up with the revolutionary technique that allowed Rudy and his team to save Jaime is falling for her and she for him.  Can Steve keep it all together and finally be reunited with his childhood sweetheart?

    TO BE CONTINUED...

Stay tuned as part two of this look at the third season premiere of The Six Million Dollar Man will be released in less than two weeks.

Joining John and Paul to discuss this episode are James Sherrard of Bionic Woman Files and Betsy Dodd of The Bionic Blonde.

Episode 11 The Wall- The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America
Homework Episode This is the second installment of the series called The Wall in which we take a critical look at the modern education system. This episode consists of two documentaries that examine the role of tax exempt foundations in the practice of compulsory schooling. The first part of the episode is an interview with a woman named Charlotte Thomson Iserbyt, a Reagan era wistleblower from within the Department of Education. The second part of the episode is an interview, conducted by G. Edward Griffin, of a man named Norman Dodd. He was the chief investigator of the Reese Commission that investigated the subversive activities of enormous tax exempt foundations. What the two of them found just may horrify Americans...
