25. BITCH DIESEL ft. Marty McCarthy
The Sibz have a special guest on this week, the hottest gay man from Down Under, Marty McCarthy. He's also done a lot of really cool other stuff but they mostly just ask him about silly Australian words, like how they call rosé, Bitch Diesel!? They also learn what a spotted quoll is, discuss their first cuss words, and Nic tells the story about how he ended up at Stannis Baratheon's for dinner one night.

Puppy Farming and OOH Disasters with UK RVN Abby Wharton
Planning to make a quick buck by selling pups? Fancy getting your latest trendy cross breed cocker-labra-pug-doodle bitch pregnant? Think again. Abby tells us about just *some* of the things that can go wrong in the 'puppy trade'. These poor animals are living beings, and as such can (and will) attract large vet bills and welfare disasters. Don't get caught up by inexperience and dubious advice. If you are planning to breed, do your research. And by that, I mean ask your vet. Not some random social media group.
Lucy's Law: The beginning of the end of puppy farming
More about this episode and about Abby's hobby farming (not puppy farming!), including photographs of her cows (and a pink wheelbarrow!) on Abby's own episode webpage.

Episode 13: Justice to Man’s Best Friend: The Ethics of Commercial Dog Breeding, with Candace Croney
Selective breeding of dogs currently helps meet the high demand for purebred dogs, but there are concerns about the ethicality of this practice.
In this podcast, Dr. Candace C. Croney of Purdue University talks about commercial breeding practices in the United States, social opposition to the practice, and the potential consequences of its outright abolition on the beings central to the discussion: dogs themselves. Her discussion is an extension of her paper “Turning up the Volume on Man’s Best Friend: Ethical Issues Associated with Commercial Dog Breeding,” which is published in Brill’s Journal of Applied Animal Ethics Research.
Guest: Candace Croney
Host: Emily Tamkin

Episode 110: The Dark Tradition Behind Spain's Hunting Dogs
Today on Animal Instinct, we're joined by documentary filmmaker Yeray Lopez Portillo, who's working on a film about hunting dog culture in Spain. Yo Galgo tells the story of the galgo, a greyhound breed treated like goods rather than creatures. Used for hunting down hare, a strong hunting dog has a short shelf life, such that thousands are abandoned or killed at the end of each hunting season. Yeray tells us about his journey sharing the plight of the galgo on camera.
