In 1986 a short story called Young Zaphod Plays It Safe was included in a charitable book titled The Utterly Utterly Merry Comic Relief Christmas Book. Jeff and Bryan discuss this piece of political satire and try to determine if it includes some comic relief or if it is utterly relieved of comedy.

Unlike the first two radio series, which were original productions, this one, like the third, is adapted from the existing material. All this leads up to a special reading of a poem written by Douglas Adams when he was 17 years old.

This book is a novelization of a script Douglas Adams wrote for Doctor Who that was never picked up. So, he used many of the ideas in this in the third book of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy, Life, the Universe, and Everything.

Jeff and Bryan discuss the three biggest issues with the 2005 Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Movie that they feel change the story so drastically that any sequels are very improbable. They also talk about how over editing made the movie confusing. They also wish the movie kept the jokes... the whole jokes.

Jeff and Bryan reminisce about seeing the 2005 Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy movie in the theater when it was released.  They have a discussion about whether is is better or worse for the movie to stray from the original material. They do both agree that sometimes NO JOKE is better than HALF A JOKE.
