Their passion for giving back is what brought them together originally, and both believe Kansas City’s philanthropic, hospitable nature is key to what sets our town apart.

Wines: 2020 Daou Pessimist Red Blend and a 2018 Antiche Terre Amarone della Valpolicella

Only a small number of people have earned both the  Master of Wine (MW) and Master Sommelier (MS) credentials. Today's guest, Doug Frost, is in that distinguished number. He is also an author and wine consultant based in Kansas City, Missouri.

Not only is Doug one of three individuals in the world to hold simultaneously the MW and MS titles, Wine Spectator has bestowed the accolade of Master of Spirits on Frost. He is also co-owner of the winery, Echolands, based in Walla Walla, Washington.

In this episode, Doug joins us to talk about the Wine Pinnacle Awards, an association of somms worldwide submitting their best selections for certain categories of wines that are accessible to most, if not all countries.

Listen to learn of Doug's career, the Wine Pinnacle Awards, and, of course, our thoughts on the two wines we taste this episode.
