    Let's feel the feels together

    Let's feel the feels together

Are you someone who listens to sad songs when you're sad?  Research has shown, listening to sad music actually makes us feel “more romantic and less tragic emotions.” Wanna give it a go? Grab a cushion. Grab a tissue! Let’s feel the feels together.

S1EP71 It's Ok Not To Feel Ok

S1EP71 It's Ok Not To Feel Ok

Today I'd like to talk about something that's been a big revelation in my self-love journey - that it's ok not to feel ok.

There was a time in my life where I'd sugarcoat something bad in my life - strive to find some good in a bad situation - that's The Secret right? Well, I'm here to share my thoughts on feelings on this and the fact that you may actually be doing yourself a disservice.

There's nothing at all wrong with you if you are sad, or feeling depressed. Our feelings are there to let us know that something is wrong; that we are out of alignment. If you ignore those feelings - trying to stay positive -  then you won't be able to change your situation.

Our emotions, both "positive" and "negative" are there to tell us something. So if you really want to be happy, you need to listen to them.

P.S. If you need someone to talk to, openly and honestly, remember that I'm here for you!

S1EP61 You Don't Have To Be "On" All The Time

S1EP61 You Don't Have To Be "On" All The Time

Today I am sharing about my struggles as a recovering people-pleaser.

As a people-pleaser, I felt like I had to always be "on" - always trying to present myself as perfectly put together - and that was extremely draining... worse, I wasn't really "me". I was what other people wanted me to be.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to be positive and meeting life head-on - but if you are forcing it - it's time to tell someone how you really feel.

When you are honest with yourself and realize that you don't have to be "on" all the time, you can give yourself time to reflect and grow.

First Cup of Coffee - November 2, 2020

Memories of Roxanne Conrad/Rachel Caine today. Also why it's okay to admit to down days - and even important to let people see the less shiny bits of our lives. And a bit on romance-author cliches in She-Devil.
