Delhi's Air Pollution: Impact On Women And Children
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO) report on the effects of air pollution among children, nearly 93 per cent (1.8 billion) of the world's children under the age of 15 years breathe poisonous air every day. Furthermore, air pollution is responsible for one out of every ten deaths in children under the age of five, as well as 20% of newborn deaths. Dr. Anupam Sibal, senior paediatrician and group medical director at Apollo Hospitals, spoke to the NDTV-Dettol Banega Swasth India team about the rising levels of air pollution and its impact on the health of children and expectant mothers.
