FULL SHOW: The Rickey Smiley Morning Show Podcast | Cornel West For President; Young Buck Selling Off His Music Catalog; Misa is Mad at Diddy; Wendy Williams is in Trouble & LSU’s Jasmine Carson Joined The RSMS Crew

It is Tuesday on The Rickey Smiley Morning Show. And we have some news in politics. Dr. Cornel West will be running for US President in 2024. He is running as a third party candidate with the People’s Party. He says that neither candidate is being honest and he feels that it is time for a change. Young Buck has to sell off his music catalog to pay back his creditors and 50 Cent. Young Buck is still signed to G-Unit Records but there has been friction between Young Buck and 50 Cent. Misa Hylton is upset with Diddy after her son, Justin Combs, was arrested for a DUI in LA. She is stating that her son’s behavior is because of the influence of Diddy. Wendy Williams is not doing so well and her son is very worried about her. Her son feels that people are taking advantage of her and that she is in no condition to be working and doing the projects that she’s been doing. Gary With The Tea is very upset that people are not helping her out and her ex-husband is to blame for her downfall. Jasmine Carson, from the LSU Women’s Basketball Championship team, joined the RSMS Crew to talk about her history making performance in the National Championship game. AND MUCH MORE FUNNY!!!

In this episode of the MFM Speaks Out, Dawoud Kringle interviews master pianist, composer, producer, music educator, music activist, and MFM Advisory Committee Member Arturo O'Farrill. Elegance of Existence Duet, Pt. 2: Spiritual Dark Matter and the Boundlessness of Mind

Elegance of Existence Duet, Pt. 2: Spiritual Dark Matter and the Boundlessness of Mind

What's up to my kinnickkinnick pouched rowdies and fervent lidded luck ducks!

Welcome back to the BNP, and thank you as always for joining and supporting the show.

This episode is Part 2 of an impromptu duet reflecting on cosmic vastness and the elegance of existence. Part 1 tackled the outer vastitude and sheer mind gurgling scale of the Universe out there.

Part 2 is an impressionistic nose dive into the inverse: through the gigantic boundlessness of inner life in all its multifoliate hues, and the great psychological space within which we swim like minnows on the liminal shallows of a limitless Sea.

This episode features a poem I recently wrote about the history underwritten and the lathe for shaping unseen footprints, long trod out upon the land beneath contemporary city streets.

Alluded to rhythm and blues tracks (both vintage and new) get mixed into a recent conversation between two heroes of mine, and two giants of the current moment: Senator Nina Turner and Dr. Cornel West. You can check out the whole conversation on Nina Turner's podcast Hello Somebody.

No exploration of the inner universe is complete without some input from the late great and rarefied weirdness of Terence McKenna and his distant but oh so precise underwater seal's voice, so we snorkel the reef of his psychedelic topography for a spell, and end on a fresh edit of another poem I'd written a few years ago.

Jump in and enjoy the ride y'all! This episode is designed to make you feel some kinda way...

Please don't forget to rate review and subscribe if you haven't done so already. Also, this week I challenge you to tell one other person about the BNP. Ferrets and other assorted mongrels do count as persons. Not trying to be varmintist up in here.

As always you can check out the BNP on Instagram @conantanner.

Until next time, be good to each other and be good to yourselves.

Part 2: Growing Up Gay In A Religious & Intolerant Household: Mona Morsy's Story

    Wassup beautiful world!

Strap in for the 2nd installment in Mona Morsy's inspiring tale about coming of age and maintaining personal integrity under very trying circumstances. Before we get back to Mona's story however, I begin this episode by playing two clips from a recent JRE podcast featuring the great Dr. Cornel West. After that we waste no time getting back to Mona's story, picking up the tale where we left off. This portion of the story includes a) an actual exorcism and b) Mona getting sent to "sinner's camp" after her Mom discovers that she is having a love affair with another woman. Part 3 will be released on the next episode. Thanks for listening y'all!
