Inside the Cockpit 39: Weird, Toxic, Bad

We're back with an interstitial. Apologies for the missed flight, but alas both of us fell ill back to back making any attempt at recording an episode a nightmare. That aside though we're both feeling better now and are here to talk about a few different things, almost all of which seemed to touch at least a little upon fandoms making things weird, bad, toxic, or some combination of all three.

Episode 365: Cheers to 7 Years!

Episode 365: Cheers to 7 Years!

It's 7 years of podcasting for better or worse and we're throwing down to celebrate. Old friends return and new ones, well, we have no new friends. Tonight we talk some movies, some shows, but yada yada yada. Instead we have a live Taco Bell chicken nugget taste test, then butt heads in a GND trivia contest for the ages. Let's go!

Inside the Cockpit 35: Non Intitulari

Inside the Cockpit 35: Non Intitulari

This time in the cockpit we talk a bit about Dr. Who, and start to talk about Cyberpunk media which somehow leads to a conversation in regards to linguistics that we may end up out of our depths on.

Inside the Cockpit 30: Its Still Real to Me

Inside the Cockpit 30: Its Still Real to Me

Once again we are opening the cockpit back up and letting you join us for our monthly interstitial conversation. This time around we deep dive into a pair of concepts. Genres and kayfabe. Come along as we discuss the idea of separating movies, music, games and everything else into smaller categories based on only a handful of categories and when we exhaust the well of what use genres are we turn to the subject of kayfabe, an idea that is mostly rooted in wrestling but in many ways has wormed it's way all through the internet. We also vaguely discuss the interaction between fans and the creation of art but that's more a segue than an actual topic. All of this and more this month inside the cockpit!

Inside the Cockpit 28: Awards and Champions

Inside the Cockpit 28: Awards and Champions

It's the 12th and that means it's time for another Inside the Cockpit, turns out everything we wanted to talk about happened in just the last 4 days. Between Thursday, December 8th and Sunday the 11th the amount of events that interest us is near un-quantifiable... okay that's a stretch. It was 3 events. BUT it was 3 LARGE events. Thursday was The Video Game Awards, one of the only award shows it feels like is worth watching. Saturday was Ring of Honor's Final Battle PPV and then just last night, Sunday, was the Mogul Chessboxing Championship. 3 stacked events over the short span of 4 days and we cover it all Inside the Cockpit.

Episode 151 - After Dark 35: Geek Speak

On this After Dark episode of the Where to Stick It podcast, Dan has brought yet another card game to the table, but this one might actually be pretty good. The Table Topics card game poses subjective and hypothetical questions based on some movies and things relating to nerd culture.
