This episode of the Eastern Lariat revolves around Dragon Gate and their two day spectacle known as the Kobe Pro-Wrestling Festival 2021 that saw Masato Yoshino's final two matches and his emotional retirement while the question whether it was Kzy time was answered with a crushing no. Titles, masks and toilet wipes changed hands while the action was wild and unpredictable. Join us in our look back at some fond memories of Yoshino and the Dragon System itself while also looking into the future of Dragon Gate. With Golden Week in the rear view mirror The Eastern Lariat crew got together to discuss major developments, matches and stories in some of the big japanes pro-wrestling companies. Following up Dylan's great Patreon series about the Champion Carnival he did with Rob (@BeMcCooley on Twitter) we once again got Rob onto the show to discuss the Carnival as well as other developments in NJPW, Kyushu Pro, TJPW, DDT and Dragon Gate in one of the busiest weeks of the year in Japan!

...there was a lot to talk about. This is why the Eastern Lariat is already back with a new MAXIMUM sized edition of the acquainted Puroresu Potpourri! This episode heavily revolves around New Japan's business including Harold Meij, Roku TV and AEW, but of course also around the wrestling side of things itself. Tanahashi won the NEVER Title, Jay White returned, there's big shows coming up. This New Japan package is complemented by DDT's big card for 2/12, Dragon Gate's Truth Gate kicking off, THE BODYGAAAH's Colega Pro Wrestling and Dylan's MARCHMADNESS!

In another super sized edition The Eastern Lariat looks back at possibly the most challenging and unusual six months in wrestling history from a japanese stand point. Like most other countries, Japan was affected by outbreaks of COVID-19 and still though wrestling found a way – mostly through empty arena shows. That's why this year for the first (and only?) time the Half Year Awards saw the awards for best empty arena wrestler and show besides the regular categories like MVP, most outstanding, best promotion, most underrated and so on and so forth. Join the Eastern Lariat for a fun ride through the entire japanese wrestling scene!

With pro-wrestling “returning” or more precisely getting back to normalcy step by step The Eastern Lariat debates which promotion made the most out of the unfavorable circumstances during the height of the Coronavirus pandemic. In doing so STRIGGA & Dylan talk about 2AW, AJPW, Dragon Gate, DDT and NOAH and name some of the best matches and moments while also pointing out what didn't work. From there on the duo turns their attention to NJPW and the upcoming New Japan Cup. They lay out scenarios for the possible winners and name some matches they'd love to see within the tournament.

The Eastern Lariat comes to you with a bunch of different topics such as Hiromu Takahashi's idea of running the Best of the Super Junior and the G1 Climax simultaneously, Dragon Gate's King of Gate, All Japan's latest event featuring a great Junior Title match and DDT putting out more great content. The big talking point though is the junior division of Pro Wrestling NOAH that's full of turns, twists and treachery.

The main event of Puroresu March Madness! Dylan's covering the Heavyweights and this time he's joined by "The King of Banter" himself! Joe Lanza from Voices of Wrestling! We go through our entire brackets and face off for the first time ever over multiple competitors and try to figure out classic Cinderella stories in College Basketball such as George Mason, Loyola, and Florida Gulf Coast (sorry about Georgetown) and what seeds they were. We go through differences and similarities, who will be the first ever Eastern Lariat Puroresu Madness Champion!

The Eastern Lariat Potpourri returns! The big anchor of the Summer Potpourri is this past weekend's Big Japan show that was headlined by the big boy battle between Daisuke Sekimoto and Michael Elgin. STRIGGA & Dylan also discuss the new Strong World Heavyweight Champion and the chances for young guys within Big Japan. A preview of the Saikyou Tag League concludes the Big Japan topic before the Eastern Lariat crew talks about Dragon Gate's Dangerous Gate show, New Japan's Super J-Cup and the Young Lions Cup, WRESTLE-1's upcoming show in Yokohama and some other news and notes on Ice Ribbon, OZ Academy and HEAT UP … and what about the Zodiac?

Dragon Gate ran their biggest show of the year and maybe their biggest in the company's history because it saw the return of Ultimo Dragon to the promotion after over 15 years. Because of that and for the main event between Ben-K and PAC for the Open the Dream Gate Championship this show was highly emotional and featured some outstanding matches and moments. STRIGGA & Dylan got together to talk about this show from Kobe and also some other news and notes regarding Fujita „Jr“ Hayato, Sareee and Pro-Wrestling NOAH.

The holiday Umi no Hi traditionally is a very busy day in japanese pro wrestling so STRIGGA & Dylan at first focus on DDT's Wrestle Peter Pan show from Ota Ward Gymnasium before going over the G1 Climax show from Hokkaido that saw Jay White vs. Tomohiro Ishii and Tetsuya Naito vs. Taichi. In a rare preview the Eastern Lariat crew talks about the big Dragon Gate Kobe Pro-Wrestling Festival that will see the return of Ultimo Dragon and towards the end they debate Jun Akiyama stepping down as president of All Japan Pro Wrestling.

With a crazy weekend of rumors surrounding Gedo STRIGGA & Dylan are back with a new episode discussing what led to STRIGGA tweeting about Gedo allegedly stepping down from the booking position of NJPW. Amidst all this turmoil the G1 Climax announcements can't be forgotten though and so the Eastern Lariat crew goes over both blocks, picks their favorites, runner ups, dark horses and the overall winner. How does the tournament compare to last year's? What about the drop outs and the newly added participants?
