WHAT IF? Drew Brees Signed with Miami Dolphins Instead of New Orleans Saints
We kick off a new series we're calling 'What If' that will explore big headlines in sports and discuss how things would have changed if it would have gone differently.
To start us off, we go back to 2006 and the NFL offseason. The Miami Dolphins were in search of a quarterback for head coach Nick Saban's team and they narrowed it down to Daunte Culpepper and Drew Brees. Both guys were dealing with injuries but the medical team in Miami determined Brees was a bigger risk and he ended up signing with the New Orleans Saints.
Since that time both franchises have gone in completely opposite directions.
Join us as we give you the background on Brees before that 2006 offseason, what happened since that decision, and then answer the What If scenario.
Some of the things we'll get into:
- What happens to Nick Saban, Alabama, and college football?
- Who do the Saints settle on at QB?
- Does this change Sean Payton's legacy?
- What does the AFC East look like for the past 10+ years with Brady, Brees, Belichick and Saban?
Hit us up on Twitter and Instgram if you have an opinion on what football would look like today with Brees in Miami instead of New Orleans.

Bill Nagy, former OL, Cowboys: Toughest Games Are The Ones You Play In Your Mind!
After the NFL, Bill went into college coaching and was on Coach Chryst’s staffs at Pittsburgh and then at Wisconsin before Bill decided to go into the private sector to have more time with his family. His wife, Jessamyn, played volleyball at Wisconsin, and they have three young children. Bill currently works as a risk management consultant at Hausmann-Johnson Insurance in Madison, WI.
Bill goes down memory lane as he shares his experiences and challenges with the Badgers who eventually had 14 of the 15 offensive linemen play in the NFL. He earned himself a starting position going into his third season only to have it taken away when he was in a moped accident (lady ran a red light) just two weeks before the start of Fall camp. He gives an account of watching his starting and playing opportunities that season fade away as his rehab took longer than expected. The title of this pod is in reference to the mental battles he had while dealing with the emotions of earning a starting spot only to lose it because of a freak accident off-the-field.
Bill talks about the most impressive player that he played with at any level, DeMarcus Ware, and Ware’s strong belief system. According to Bill, Ware’s excellent performances came not just from his outstanding athletic abilities but also from his unmatched confidence and belief that he was the best.
Bill and Craig discuss the business of college football and how the business side of the college game mirrors the NFL. College players today are far more knowledgeable and sophisticated in terms of their rights, opportunities, utilization of the transfer portal, branding and positioning themselves for the NFL.
Craig and Bill talk about old-timers Drew Brees and Tom Brady related to their passion and love for the game and their competitive fires. They agree that both Brady and Brees have the uncanny ability to have a rookie mindset and passion that defies their age.
Bill and Craig talk about many other topics including:
•Would Bill allow his son to play football and why,
•Who is one of coaches that he respects and learned the most from,
•What makes the University of Wisconsin and Badger football special, and
•Bill shares his perspective as a college football coach (Pittsburgh Panthers & Wisconsin Badgers).

Daly Dose 11-18-20 Our NFL midseason report
The Masters took place over the weekend, but Tiger Woods couldn't come up with any magic this year. The New Orleans Saints will be without QB Drew Brees for a while, but backup QB Jameis Winston could be exactly what we all need. The NCAA Tournament could be played in a single city, but there are some concerns that organizers havenât thought of.
The 2020 NBA Draft takes place tonight! Who will be the top pick taken? And while some teams are making moves and trades to improve, one team is notoriously quiet.
Then, with the NFL just past the midseason point, we discuss what we have seen so far in this historical year. Which teams are bound for the postseason? Who is the Coach of the Year? Who is the Most Valuable Player? And we even make our picks for Super Bowl LV!
67. NFL Week 9 Woes: TUA sauces Kyler & Brees smokes Brady! Jets +10 Over Patriots
Week 9 L's debrief & Jets +10 Over Patriots on Monday Night Football! What a brutal few losses yesterday after an otherwise promising week. I mean Tua beats Kyler, Washington has Alex Smith come in against the Giants after Kyle Allen goes down, Brees smokes Brady and I just can't find a lane of a positive week through and through! Tonight makes absolutely no sense to go Jets +10 tonight and that is why we take it. @MoneylineMonaco on all platforms
