n the episode of "How I Did It," host Damon Frank speaks with Rachel Hechtman about her journey from addiction to sobriety. Rachel shares her personal experience with alcohol addiction, detailing how she began drinking at a young age and the moments she realized her relationship with alcohol was problematic. After many challenges and smaller "rock bottoms," a series of introspective moments during the COVID-19 pandemic propelled her into sobriety. Using tools like walking her dog, sipping tea, and setting short-term sobriety goals, Rachel has managed to maintain over two and a half years of alcohol-free living. She emphasizes the significance of taking sobriety day by day and finding purpose, which for her, materialized as the "Sober in Central Park" initiative.

    First Dates In Recovery

    First Dates In Recovery

Jessica Dueñas shared her experiences with dating while in recovery, emphasizing the importance of disclosing one's recovery status to potential partners and projecting it as an asset rather than a liability. She explained that this disclosure can help filter out individuals who might not be supportive. Jessica also warned against dating heavy drinkers or substance users during early recovery and encouraged self-confidence and a better sense of self-worth in choosing partners. She suggested that one's profile on a dating site can give a lot of information about their attitude and personality, recommending avoiding people with a predominantly negative outlook. Finally, she advised that individuals should experiment with different approaches to find what makes them most comfortable in dating scenarios.

Why Having Fun In Recovery Is Important!

Why Having Fun In Recovery Is Important!

Join Reverend Kevin Kline and Damon as they delve into a significant yet often overlooked aspect of the recovery process - the importance of having fun. They discuss how sobriety doesn't have to mean a life devoid of joy and that allowing oneself to enjoy life's pleasures can, in fact, reinforce one's resolve to stay clean. They share personal anecdotes, provide insights on overcoming the guilt associated with having fun while in recovery, and highlight the pivotal role that camaraderie, connection, and a robust network play in staying sober.

Tune in as Kevin elaborates on the spiritual aspect of recovery and how being joyful and having fun can enhance one's relationship with God. He explains how this is an integral part of being well-rounded and contributes to our ability to handle life's ups and downs. This video underscores the point that sobriety is about abstaining from substances and learning to live a balanced and fulfilling life. Remember, recovery doesn't mean the end of fun; it could very well be the beginning.

Behind The Scenes Of The Industry | feat. Amber & Adria

Behind The Scenes Of The Industry | feat. Amber & Adria

What is it really like working in the restaurant industry? I am joined with my friends Amber and Adria as we walk you through our experiences as bartenders and servers. Collectively we have over 25 years in the food industry. In this line of work, you tend to get desensitized to human interaction. We have all had our fair share of ups and downs. Some of us put a brave face on in the middle of chaos, and other times we cry in the back so customers cannot see us. This industry is not for the weak, it will chew you up and spit you out if you let it. If you do it long term you have to be prepared to face some uncomfortable moments and challenging days. How did we start out in this line of work? How are the customers? What was it like during Covid? How bad are the drugs? Did we ever date coworkers? How much money do we make? What are the creepiest moments we had to endure, and WHY are we still doing this to ourselves? So come hang out with us while we break it down and expose some of the weirdest and cringiest stories. You are guaranteed to laugh and have ‘WTF’ moments with this one.
    Enjoy!
    xoxo,
