The Meyers Manx, the original dune buggy is set to make a comeback as a Manx 2.O!

Born on the beach of California, the small fiberglass dune buggy was great for open air beach going or other off-roading.  The original was a simple VW Beetle cut down to fit and it was so popular, seems everyone copied the original.

The original, the Manx, was created by Bruce Manx and it can be seen with Steve McQueen behind the wheel and Elvis also drove one in a movie...both men kept it after the movie wrapped!

The new Manx 2.0 is an all new design based on the original, which can be found as a 'Remastered Original' according to Freeman Thomas, the current Meyers Manx, CEO.

Great idea for a kit car with a lot of heritage and should be one of the more simple kits to assemble.  Then there is the Manx 2.0....

V8s Aren't Dead Yet; J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study

Host Tom Appel and co-hosts Jill Ciminillo and Damon Bell kick off the show by discussing the passing of dune-buggy pioneer Bruce Meyers and the results of J.D. Power's most recent vehicle-reliability survey. Paul Strauss, publisher of the popular websites The Awesomer, Technabob, and the auto-themed 95octane, joins us to talk about the latest batch of brawny V8-powered vehicles--the Lexus IS 500 F Sport Performance, Land Rover Defender V8, and Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392.  We also discuss the effect Tiger Woods' recent crash in a Genesis GV80 might have on the Genesis brand. Tom has a quiz on vehicle model-name origins for Damon and Jill, and Damon runs down the latest articles on the Consumer Guide Daily Drive blog--including a First Spin review of the redesigned-for-2021 Buick Envision compact SUV.

Iowa Farmer Jeff Ryan, aka "Guy No. 2" - Survived Brain Surgery Awake on the Table to Become Loved Ag Writer

Pete talks with his friend Jeff Ryan, farmer/writer from Cresco, IA. Ryan is known as "Guy No. 2" for his long-time online blog/columns about life and farming in northeast Iowa, always with a humorist slant that brings a smile. Or a tear. Ryan tells Pete about overcoming the Essential Tremor he grew up with and how an incredible brain surgery in 1998 - while he was awake on the table, changed his life. Guy No. 2 has been known to drive his yellow dune buggy on Christmas Day around Cresco, IA....snow or no snow
