The Red Sox aren't worth your time until ownership does something

The Red Sox aren't worth your time until ownership does something

John Henry and the Red Sox have to sell Jones, Mego, and Arcand with their play on the field. John Henry is not invested, the players want out, Alex Cora too. Why should any fans care? The way ownership acted this offseason is shameful. Arcand speaks from the perspective of a Boston fan and says, "We are not trying to tell people not to listen to games. I just do not like this. It is not good for the city of Boston or anyone that the Red Sox are bad."

In the Name of Civil Disobedience, Drop Your Pants

In the Name of Civil Disobedience, Drop Your Pants

The first week of enforcement of the sticky stuff rule resulted in dropping of pants and threats to do so, the ejection of Joe Girardi for calling out Max Scherzer after demanding a substance check mid-inning, and Hector Santiago winning the dubious honor of  first pitcher suspended under the new world order. Pottymouth is still grooving on her visit to Fenway. It’s a toss-up if the best part was the salute to Dustin Pedroia or the Red Sox sweeping the Yankees (again). Patti notes that qHAR (quality Hair Above Replacement) directly factors into how excited we are about multi home run games.  Witness  the well-deserved media-frenzy regarding Fernando Tatis, Jr., and the barely a peep about Schwarber, Winker, and  Mountcastle doing the exact same thing. Gotta be the hair. In other qHAR  notes, we approve of Jazz Chisolm going purple, and wonder who will move into the rankings now that Freddy Galvis is regrettably out for a month or more.

Although the All Star caps meet with NCiB approval, we join the almost unanimous panning of Nike’s in-game jersey design. Yogi Berra gets a Forever stamp, the DR qualifies for the Olympics, and NC State loses their shot at the College World Series because of COVID.

Barstool's White Sox Dave is BACK / Episode 37

Barstool's White Sox Dave is BACK / Episode 37

UNFILTERED White Sox Dave aka "COWBOY" returns to The Yipps Podcast, to shoot the shit with the boys. We start with why the Hall of Fame voting process is as fraudulent as Robinhood, and why nobody gives a shit about Tom Verducci, and transition to Surviving Barstool and SLEEPWALKING TO THE NYC SUBWAY!?!?!

Baseball news: The Colorado Rockies have officially lost their minds and traded Nolan Arenado in a deal so stupid, a senile sloth would have vetoed that. Twins re-sign Cruz and add former White Sox Colome, Mickey Callaway confirmed scumbag, official goodbyes to one of the greatest short athletes the world has seen (Dustin Pedroia) and finally a shitshow of a debate about how whack MLB's rankings are of the Top 10 Shortstops in the game right now!

Find us on social media @theyippspod and shoot the shit with us! Hot takes, cold takes, what you want to hear, segment ideas, tell us how much we suck, we love it all!

    Outlandish baseball projections

    Outlandish baseball projections
We start off with a bang this week, as Devo describes his first experience with the Great Male Whale Tail in our opening segment. And of course we end up with our usual penis, poop and flatulence discussion (how does it always come to this?) At 17:48 we get in to our sports talk by delving into the happenings of Major League Baseball's Opening Day. Billy goes ahead and makes some outlandish (or realistic? you decide) projections based on the stats thrown up in the first day or two of the season. At 22:00 we switch over to college basketball, breaking down just how awful the officiating was in the Final Four and how neither Wisconsin or Kentucky fans really had more right to complain in their matchup. At 32:35 we move on to movie talk, with the Fast and the Furious franchise's seventh film taking in over $300 million in its debut weekend, as well as an update on Super Troopers 2 and what sweet new packages they're offering for donations. At 44:50 we start to wind down with a game of This or That, which of course has to involve poop (again how does it always come to this?).
