John re-preaches the Vision 2022 sermon preached earlier in the day by John Gunter and Jordan Santos. The sermon focuses on their motivations for ministry and what they see as essential for them going forward, and challenges the congregation to a closer relationship with Jesus. Will we be a church who diligently searches the scriptures, or will we be people who fuss when everything is not always exactly the same?

Stay Rooted in your faith Mont Belvieu! Paul asks the Colossians to continue living their lives in Jesus. This is a challenge for today's church as much as it was for them. When thinking about a brand new year, what do you want for your life? Do you want to have a closer relationship with Jesus? What are you willing to do to get that? God shows us throughout scripture that he always stands with open arms waiting on the arrival of the sinner who repents. Are you willing to come back to him? 

In Matthew's gospel, Jesus talks about building a foundation on the sand or the rock. One foundation is firm while the other is easily swept away to sea. Jesus said the rains will come either way, but you have to pick a foundation for your life.

1. Write out your spiritual goals for 2022. [Pray before you do this. Ask God to help you do things you do not even think you can do.]
2. Challenge yourself. [Do no be afraid!]
3. Pray over the list.  [Keep praying!]
4. Show the list to someone who loves you and will help you along the way. [The Christian walk is one done in community with others!]
