JID - The Forever Story Album Review (feat. Henry Warwick & Johan Rodriguez)

JID is an Atlanta based rapper/singer who has positioned himself as one of the most unique and cutting edge hip hop artists of our generation. Whether it’s his constantly evolving flows or his innovative production choices, JID has quickly ascended to become the most critically acclaimed and respected artist on J. Cole’s Dreamville record label. With his last official studio release (DiCaprio 2) being released all the way back in 2018, the hype for JID’s next full-length project had been built on years of anticipation.

Finally released in August of 2022, JID has returned with The Forever Story. The album features the likes of 21 Savage, Baby Tate, Lil Durk, Ari Lennox, Yasiin Bey (aka Mos Def), Lil Wayne, Johnta Austin, Ravyn Lenae, Eryn Allen Kane, and frequent collaborators such as Kenny Mason & EARTHGANG.

Joining us today are our good friends and fellow music connoisseurs, Henry Warwick and Johan Rodriguez! Here is our review of JID’s third studio album, The Forever Story.

    Dreamville & J. Cole - D-Day Album Review

    Dreamville & J. Cole - D-Day Album Review

What started out as an idea between J. Cole and his team back in the early days of his career, Dreamville Records has become one of the biggest hip hop record labels/supergroups in the music industry.

While the label has been distributed through Interscope since 2014, and was founded all the back in 2007, it wasn’t until 2019 when the world started to actually recognize what they were capable of with “Revenge of the Dreamers III”. Critically acclaimed and beloved by rap fans from all regions, this album single-handedly shot Dreamville all the way up to being one of hottest rap labels in the game.

Just in time for their annual festival in Cole’s home state of North Carolina, Dreamville has returned with a Gangsta Grillz themed mixtape, called “D-Day”. Scaling it back with the features this time around, “D-Day” is a much more raw offering from the supergroup.

Here is our review of “D-Day” by Dreamville Records.

    Date Recorded: April 10th, 2022.

Overcoming Addiction and Getting Up from Rock Bottom with Pete Koeneman

    Wassup Beautiful World!

This episode of Barbarian Noetics features my good friend and fellow fighter-of-the-good-fight Pete Koeneman, who joins us all the way from Maui, Hawaii. We talk about conquering hardship and addiction, techniques to overcome those inevitable tough life obstacles, and nontheoretical ways of effectively building a better tomorrow. Pete opens up about how it feels to be a new Dad and to raise a child in today's world, and how he and his radiant wife Melissa (also a good homie) balance the practicalities of parenting with teaching a child the skills and mindset necessary to thrive in such a rapidly changing world.

We also discuss the medicinal tree Kratom and its many health and wellness benefits. We strive to combat some of the misinformation being pedaled by the FDA, who wants to ban Kratom so the crony big pharma firms who pull their strings can profit grotesquely off another one of Mother Nature's freely given, unadulterated healing gifts. For more information about Kratom, visit the American Kratom Association at www.americankratom.org.
