    Livin' Like Hustlers

    Livin' Like Hustlers

This week's episode is a review of the debut album Livin' Like Hustlers from west coast hip-hop group Above The Law. Pioneers in the G-Funk sound, ATL released one of the best gangsta albums of all time. You'll hear banging beats produced by ATL, LayLaw, and Dr. Dre and some hard ryhmes from MC duo K.M.G and Cold 187um. This combination makes this gem a certified classic from 1990.

    Episode 146 - Straight Outta Compton (1:18:11)

    Episode 146 - Straight Outta Compton (1:18:11)
We are back to discuss "Straight Outta Compton" with the Afrolibertarian. NWA unleashed a whole new genre of music, telling stories of how it is in their neighborhood and with a brash tone that called immediate attention to their daily plight. They found a large audience, even out in suburban America, to make an indelible impact that stays with us to this day.

This is a sentimental journey that only scratches the surface of all the topics we wanted to discuss. Per our guest's recommendation in our post-show bonus content, if you want a fuller picture of the story check out "The Defiant Ones" on HBO.

Catch us next week as we discuss Clint Eastwood's "The Mule" with returning guest, Rocky Ferrenburg.

Robert and I analyze popular movies from a Rothbardian/Anarcho-Capitalist perspective.

We use movies as a starting point for people who may not be familiar with this way of thinking.   Discussion of the plot and decisions that characters make in relation to morality and violations of the non-aggression principle are our bread and butter.

We also will highlight and discuss any themes or lessons from Austrian Economics that we can glean from the film.

The point is to show what anarchy actually is with instances that are presented in film.

We publish at least once per week; and occasionally will do specials surrounding holidays or events (elections/olympics) and have guests.

THE GANGSTA & THE GRADUATE MIXTAPE

THE GANGSTA & THE GRADUATE MIXTAPE
Jayforce Presents "The Gangsta & The Graduate Mixtape!" Two weeks before Kanye West & 50 Cent were to drop their new albums, Jayforce dropped this mixtape which is definitely a collector's item marking a historical moment in hip hop where 50 Cent battled Kanye West for the attention of the fans & the overall hip hop community! As much as many people say that 50 Cent & Kanye West are like oil & water, we find them to be similar in many ways. The only major difference between the two really is the way they've achieved success & notoriety. 50 Cent & Kanye have both overcome personal setbacks that have only made them "stronger" whether it was being shot 9 times or being involved in a near fatal car accident. Even after these near fatal events they've both had to struggle to achieve success when many people didn't believe in these two artists when they were both underdogs just new to the game. It took either an Eminem or Dame Dash type of figure to truly give them their shot. Both artists have made various outspoken comments on various issues that the media just loves to print. Flamboyant showmen that they are, these "Hip Hop PT barnums" have never had problems selling multi-platinum records. Their egos collided on September 11th 2007 in this historical hip hop battle. Prior to the final sales figures being released their was alotta hype surrounding the two artists & it was interesting to see what tactics they employed to win. 50 Cent takes a sort of mixed martial arts approach to his beefs by attacking his opponents while Kanye has more of a finesse type of gameplan using Judo which is in essence using your opponents energy against themselves. Overall it's easy to see the similarites in the music as well as their parallels in life experiences. Kanye tends to be a great producer whereas 50 has always surrounded himself with great producers all the while showcasing his great ear for quality production. Enjoy this mixtape & share it with a friend! It's a definite classic! Platinum Collector's Item! DOWNLOAD THIS MIXTAPE OR LISTEN HERE BY CLICKING ON THE ICON BELOW
