But what happens when he finds himself not only in love with an alien princess, but playing a part in a game between a future version of himself from another universe, and the Crossbones of that Universe who just happens to be an unstoppable killing machine? X-Minisode #3 - Messiah Complex

    X-Minisode #3 - Messiah Complex

Continuing his journey through X-Men continuity, Monte reads X-Men: Messiah Complex, a huge crossover X-Men event published from October 2007-January 2008 and involving four different X-books. This event marks a huge shift in X-Men continuity and is the climax of the events set in motion in the House of M in 2005.

Next week we will all be back in a regular episode talking about Nubia: Real One, an alternative origin story for Amazonian queen & superhero Nubia.

Monte's theme this season is best-selling superhero comics of all time. Veronica's theme is stories from the DC Young Adults graphic novel imprint.

Interview: Tom King and Phil Hester - Gotham Year One (TPB FOC June 11) (the interview took place March 21st)

    1. Gotham Year One is a great treat for someone like myself who loves film noir, are you both fans of the genre?
    2. Gotham Year One is a complex sort of story, what was the bud or start of this idea before scripting and drawing even began?
    3. Gotham Year One def feels like it doesn’t necessarily need to be tied to the greater DCU or be a “Batman” book at all, so I want to know why he wanted to do this as Gotham story, not just a standalone/creator-owned series
    4. Phil, I love how you play with silhouette, what goes into doing that at the opportune time and place?
    5. Since this book is so noir, did either of you do any research of noir classics, or do you have any favorites?
    6. The atmosphere and mood is always visually arresting too, what has it been like working with Jordie Bellaire and Eric Gapstur?
    7. Tom, there are interesting connections to the Gotham we know in this series, like how crime alley got its name, were you able to fit every connection in or did any hit the cutting room floor?
    8. With the final issue out the 28th, might we ever see a sequel, a year two?
    9. What's next, what are you most excited for in the coming year.
