Jude and Second Peter (AD 64)

Jude and Second Peter (AD 64)
Since many modern skeptics have questioned the authenticity and pre-70 dates for both Jude and Second Peter, we need to look at the internal evidence, which leans heavily in favor of the more conservative traditional view. We also look at the expectations Jude and Peter gave to those churches. If you wish to have the PDF lesson outline for this podcast, simply email us to request it (preterist1@preterist.org). John's Writings (AD 60-63)

    John's Writings (AD 60-63)
Futurists believe John remained alive for over two decades after the destruction of Jerusalem, and therefore tend to date all of John's writings after AD 70. We debunk all this and show that John died in the Neronic persecution, and therefore all of his writings had to be written before AD 70. Hebrews Corrects Barnabas

    Hebrews Corrects Barnabas
We look a little more at the activity of Mark in relation to Paul and the book of Hebrews, and especially his role in helping Paul write the book of Hebrews as a correction to the anti-Judaic polemic and hyper-allegorical interpretative methods exhibited in the Epistle of Barnabas. Historical Problem for Preterism

    Historical Problem for Preterism
Our annual exhibit booth at the Evangelical Theological Society, what we do there, and why it is important for the whole preterist movement. Ed Stevens shared some of the material he is writing for his Masters Thesis on Redating the Epistle of Barnabas. The problem with the church father writings after AD 70 is that none of them were preterists. Ed explains this historical problem and how preterists solve it. Signs Begin Appearing (Late AD 62)

Signs Begin Appearing (Late AD 62)
There were many clear signs of the end which appeared with increasing frequency, beginning right here in AD 62. There were some severe earthquakes that occurred in the winter of AD 63, right after John had written his Apocalypse. The birth pangs were becoming more frequent and more intense as the months passed by. The persecution was heating up as well. We will look at more of these as we progress through the final four years leading up to the outbreak of the Zealot rebellion in AD 66. There is a PDF lesson outline available for this podcast. Arrest of James - Exile of John (AD 62)

Arrest of James - Exile of John (AD 62)
The year AD 62 was a very action-packed year for Christians in Jerusalem especially. Josephus tells us that Ananus II took advantage of the temporary lack of a procurator to arrest James (the Lord's brother) and some of his companions there in Jerusalem, one of which was probably Apostle John. James was killed, and evidently John was sent into exile to Patmos (AD 62). There is a PDF lesson outline available for this podcast.
