This weeks album review is from a hip-hop duo who came stiggedy-stomping onto the scene in 1992, named Das EFX with their debut LP Dead Serious. Rocking dreads, making tons of pop culture refrences, and putting as many “iggedys”after words as they could, Krazy Drazy and Skoob ushered in a brand new style never heard in hip-hop before and took the world by storm.

Episode 33 is a review from legendary group EPMD and their fifth LP Back in Business. A comeback album after they split up in 1992 Back in Business picks up where the group left off like they never missed a beat producing a solid release in the year 1997.

Chieli Minucci and Special EFX have been a mainstay in the contemporary jazz scene since 1983.  Chieli's guitar playing is world-class and his composing has won him three Emmy Awards along with a Grammy nomination.  The title track from his latest album Deep As The Night was Billboard's #1 Smooth Jazz Song of the Year for 2018.  In our November of 2018 interview, award-winning program director Ray White talks to Chieli about his work with Special EFX and his foray into television and film.  In our showcase segment our "hostess with the mostest" - Lisa Davis, features former member of New Edition and LSG, Johnny Gill, whose latest single is Soul Of A Woman.  For more information about our show visit Coool CAT - "Where Old School Is New School...Again."

Bob Mintzer has been the saxophonist for the Yellowjackets since 1991, playing on over a dozen studio albums with the jazz fusion band.  With his own Big Band, Bob has produced numerous albums, received 3 GRAMMY award nominations and was a GRAMMY winner in 2002.  Throughout his career, Bob has played with many of the jazz greats including Buddy Rich, Tito Puente, Hubert Laws, Randy Brecker and Peter Erskine.  The Yellowjackets latest release is Cohearence, and is among their best!  In our July of 2014 interview with Bob, award-winning syndicated radio show producer, Ray White, talks with him about the bands latest project and highlights of his career.  Coool CAT's host, Lisa Davis, features Special EFX in our showcase segment.  Led by Chieli Minucci, the GRAMMY nominated band's latest effort is Deep In The Night.  For more info on our show, visit http://www.cooolcat.com
