The Greg "Lazershark" Ellis Episode 2.0

Get familiar once again with Greg “The Lazershark” Ellis, a highly revered, industry-respected, ruthlessly sarcastic lighting designer who has been responsible for nearly 15 years of breathtaking and dazzling visual displays as innovative as the music it backs. Best known for his work with Pretty Lights, Greg is no stranger to the spotlight, having worked with global names like Banks,  30 Seconds to Mars, Mr. Beast, and even a few major music award shows to boot. Through and through, Greg Ellis remains an artist. Having added a new medium into his arsenal, we talk about his artistic journey and how his works influence one another.

    New Mic, Who's This?

    New Mic, Who's This?

The Gents are back on the podwaves to ring in the first episode of 2024. EstoBro flexes a new microphone courtesy of iamRavedad (1:00) while busting TV's chops about his seasonal technical difficulties. After giving their regards to their listening audience for hanging tight for the holiday season, they also announce how they will condense the podcast format for the new year, with the first episode having focus on multimedia and entertainment. EstoBro kicks it off by roasting the DCCU's final installment of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom before the James Gunn era takes off (16:30). TV holding the same opinion expresses the exhaustion of the comic book movie trend altogether; will Warner Bros. Studio ever match the same level of Disney's MCU? They will still be playing catchup, especially with Disney+ releasing the second season of What If...? over the holiday season (29:45), and how it was well-received and threw the MCU a lifeline. Disney however did take a massive loss with their signature cartoon "Steamboat Willie" entering the public domain at the start of 2024 (52:00), which unleashed the dark side of the cartoon all over the internet. Music was a huge part of the EstoBro TV Podcast last year, which is why it is the final segment of the episode (60:30). EstoBro announces the latest music festival news with Electric Forrest revealing their lineup, but the average attendee had a lukewarm response to this summer festival. The Gents are happy to be back, and cannot wait to share new episode of the EstoBro TV Podcast!

Ep.005 - How I took the "FEAR" out of FOMO

Ep.005 - How I took the "FEAR" out of FOMO

    Hi Friends!
Have you ever felt like you wasted your 20s because you didn't do what your friends were doing? Peer pressured into attending an event because of the hype? Felt like you could have been at a particular stage in your career or love life if you simply did x, y, and z?

The fear of missing out (FOMO) is a real phenomenon that people of all ages have felt at one time or another. I can proudly say that I have overcome it through my most recent experience this past summer.

Tune in to hear my story and what I've done to put FOMO at bay.

    Enjoy!
    Jules

    Episode 14: Happy Tree Friends

On this week's episode the boys are back from Electric Forest! We're talking swollen ankles, festival food, seeing Shaq DJ, running into Zeds Dead, fighting with reality, fighting with the weather, and a life changing surprise. Where's My Mosh Pit?

    Where's My Mosh Pit?

The boys are back in town right after they survived their very first Bonnaroo to celebrate EstoBro's bachelor party. Izzy Takamono joins the host with the most in place of TV who is still recovering from the madness. Our nerdy gents reminisce for the excellent bulk of the show about how special this music festival meant to each other, especially highlighting their experience. It would not be a podcast episode without discussing some major nerd talk points, which includes the aftermath of the latest Nintendo Direct that occurred last week. Izzy being on the show means there has to be some focus on anime, and EstoBro is worried about the live-action adaptation of One Piece that released the first trailer of the beloved pirate adventure. Other features of the show include the introduction of iamravedad and a small teaser of GRiZ's Chasing the Golden Hour set from Bonnaroo which was one of the best sets of the weekend.

The PLF Series Vol. 3: Jesska Cvijanovic

Get familiar with Jesska Cvijanovic whose pins, photography (214), and merch are foundational to the Pretty Lights Family that she helped create. Jesska shares how her photography passion changed her experience and perspective of shows, the history of the Illuminator and Vibe Adjuster programs, and the significance of some of the early Pretty Lights Family gatherings at festivals. She tells an unforgettable birthday story where her longtime friend Michal Menert gave her the ultimate VIP treatment at Electric Forest 2013. Jesska unapologetically advocates for Michal Menert’s underrepresented place in the scene, and shares her take on the controversial history of Taking Up Your Precious Time.

The PLF Series is a collection of casual conversations that Wes and Elizabeth have with members of the Pretty Lights Family in an effort to understand our collective experiences despite our different backgrounds. The Pilot Episode

    The Pilot Episode

Get familiar with your co-hosts! Elizabeth Dreeson and Wes Johnson crossed paths for years across the festival scene without actually connecting until they discovered their mutual interest in Pretty Lights at a String Cheese Incident show in Syracuse. When did music festivals become more than just a party for you? When did you “get it?” In the pilot episode of Almost Familiar, Wes and Elizabeth reflect on these questions and more as they discuss how they got into “the scene” and the evolution of their music tastes. They have a feeling their stories might feel almost familiar. They try not to talk about Pretty Lights too much, but sometimes they can’t contain it.
