    Has Revelation Already Been Fulfilled?

    Has Revelation Already Been Fulfilled?

A school of thought within Christianity known as preterism argues that the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation already have been fulfilled. Proponents of preterism say the destruction of Jerusalem by Roman armies in AD 70 was the culmination of Bible prophecy, so there will be no future Tribulation or other so-called “end time” events. But is this teaching compatible with Pentecostal theology?

Dr. David K. Bernard examines the inherent flaws of preterism and shows why it is inconsistent with biblical teaching and Pentecostal theology.

For more information on this topic, see Upholding Our Future Hope: An Apostolic Response to Preterism, compiled by Jorge Medina, and Understanding God's Word by Dr. David K. Bernard. Both titles are available at PentecostalPublishing.com.

He graduated with a Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible and Ancient Near Eastern Studies under the tutelage of Professor Roland. K. Harrison of Wycliffe College, Toronto, Canada, with Professor Hugh Nibley as chairman.

For his doctoral thesis, he analyzed a complex literary structure in the Book of Isaiah that radically impacts the book’s interpretation. During his Ph.D. program, he translated the text of Isaiah into modern English, with annotations from the Dead Sea Scroll of Isaiah, 1Qsaa, and the Greek Septuagint Version, LXX.
