Who is Brian Eno?

Brian Eno (1948-) is an English musician, composer, producer and visual artist. He is best known for his pioneering work in ambient music and contributions to rock, pop and electronica. Despite considering himself to be a “non-musician,” Eno is considered one of popular musics most influential and innovative figures thanks to his unique conceptual approach to contemporary music and experimental recording techniques. A member of the band Roxy Music before going solo, Eno has also made a name as a producer, having worked with Talking Heads, Devo, U2 and Coldplay. He has two albums on the Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Albums list, including Here Come the Warm Jets and Another Green World.

What is Here Come the Warm Jets?

Here Come the Warm Jets is Brian Eno’s debut solo album. Released in 1974, it was his first project after leaving the band Roxy Music. Blending glam and pop stylings with avant-garde approaches, the album features sixteen guest musicians who Eno mixed and matched to encourage musical incompatibility. The album was released to mostly positive reviews and was primarily praised for its experimentation.
