Many a church body has withered and died because the people simply left it up to the pastor to get the word out. But all of us are called. We see great examples of this in the Old Testament. In the book of Exodus all of the people were involved in some way in serving the Lord and in the building of the tabernacle. We are looking at Exodus chapters thirty eight through forty.
1. How do you feel about God having specific instructions and commands for us about worship? Good or bad?
2. Do you sometimes struggle with compartmentalizing the spiritual and worship away from the rest of your life?
3. What is some of the work and what are some of the tasks that you take pride and joy in doing well? Do you see this as imaging God?
4. Do you think God is in the specifics and particulars of your life, or more in the general and universals of humanity broadly?
5. How often is your response to God grateful, habitual or begrudging? What can you do to respond to God more out of gratitude?
6. Do you live in a world of scarcity?
7. Do you trust God to supply everything he asks of you?
This week, we will be covering the events that took place immediately after God reconfirmed the Mosaic Covenant with the Hebrew people. It is now time to build the tabernacle! We will learn much about how the Israelites had truly developed in character-- as they showed their willingness to serve the Lord, in the offerings that they brought forth. What exactly can we give to God, as Christians living on this earth? Is the subject of tithing a controversial topic among believers? We will be covering these details, and many more, in today's podcast teaching. As always there will be plenty of life applications for us to learn along the way. Praying that you are blessed by today's Bible study!
Moses commissions Bezalel, Aholiab, and the other artisans for the work of building the tabernacle. The people participate by bringing so many materials that they must be told to stop. God gifts, calls and equips His people for the works of service that He prepares them to do.
