Episode 11: Change How Your Face Ages Forever - Part 2
As individuals increasingly prioritize safety, precision, and personalized care in their aesthetic journeys, microneedling remains reliable in its commitment to providing a secure and impactful path toward radiant and revitalized skin. Beyond its proven safety profile, microneedling's allure is further accentuated by its adaptability. Embark on an insightful journey with me in today's episode, where we delve deeper into the transformative ways through which you can redefine the aging process of your face for lasting results. This is an invitation to discover comprehensive approaches that can fundamentally change the trajectory of how your face ages over time. Energy-based micro-needling for skin treatment A minimally invasive procedure that I find effective in changing how your face ages forever is micro-needling. It involves creating small punctures in the skin using needles, stimulating a healing response that leads to increased collagen production and overall skin improvement. I've found great satisfaction in employing microneedling for external-to-internal skin treatment. I've integrated microneedling into various cases, addressing skin concerns across the body and achieving positive outcomes. In fact, in my practice, I specifically use bipolar microneedling with the InMode platform, originally known as Fractora. The InMode devices evolved to include Morpheus8 microneedling, which, when combined with FaceTite, forms a comprehensive procedure called Embrace RF. The versatility of Morpheus8 allows for depth adjustments, ranging from 1 to 4 millimeters, with newer devices even reaching up to 8 millimeters for broader applications on the body. In our office, we often use topical anesthetics in conjunction with specialized products to enhance the comfort of the procedure. For more intensive treatments, local anesthesia can be applied to the face, depending on the individualized treatment plan developed for each patient. Non-invasive skin tightening treatments using RF technology The Smart procedures, which I’ve found to be highly effective, focus on reducing lower abdominal thickness through liposculpture, complemented by BodyTite and Morpheus8 microneedling for exceptional results. You can check the transformative outcomes without visible scarring in our before and after posted on our website gallery: https://www.drrobertwhitfield.com/ Microneedling serves to build collagen in the skin, combined with products that stimulate collagen and elastin synthesis. Morpheus8 covers depths of one to four millimeters, while our body product extends to one to eight millimeters for deeper tissue tightening. Embrace RF, briefly mentioned, incorporates FaceTite for comprehensive treatment. I've utilized these technologies across various areas, performing AccuTite on the face, FaceTite on the jawline and neck, and BodyTite on the arms, abdomen, flanks, and eyes. The tools vary in size based on the body part or area being treated, achieving 1 to 2-centimeter tightening. Also, the bipolar radiofrequency technology is incorporated with skin sensors in each device tip to ensure both external and internal skin protection from excessive heat. Other minimally invasive options prioritizing safety As someone who prioritizes safety, I’m particularly drawn to minimally invasive treatments. That’s why I've embraced a new concept called micro-coring which is an FDA-approved device that utilizes a hollowed-out microneedle with a 0.5-millimeter diameter to create a pattern akin to a laser, removing a percentage of tissue in a calculated manner. With around 26,000 cores, this tool, done under local anesthesia in-office, proves powerful, effectively addressing facial and neck concerns. Transitioning from non-invasive to minimally invasive, I've also explored a technique called MyEllevate. This minimally invasive option, performed through small openings out of sight, tightens glandular and neck tissue while refining the jawline, providing remarkable results showcased on our website. Stay tuned for my next episode as we delve deeper into the specifics of my no-cut facelift. Hubbub About the Buccal Fat Pad

Hubbub About the Buccal Fat Pad

Once an unknown niche procedure, buccal fat pad removal is now everywhere in the media. Buccal fat pad removal surgery allows us to flatten the cheeks of somebody who has "chipmunk cheeks," reducing the bulge below the cheek mound to be relatively flat or just slightly concave.

Mostly for young adults, this surgery can be a powerful tool for facial shaping when the right amount of fat is removed. But if too much fat is removed or the patient does not have enough fat to begin with, it can result in an unnatural look.

As you get older, all facial fat pads, including the buccal fat pads, lose volume and we don't want to “burn our bridges” for your future appearance, we want to look good both now and later.

Learn the reality of what buccal fat pads are, how they are removed, and the good and bad sides of how removing them might affect your appearance.

After the Facelift: Prevention, Maintenance and Restoration Continue

After the Facelift: Prevention, Maintenance and Restoration Continue

You’ve had a facelift and love the results but aging never stops. There are features of the aging face that the facelift is not particularly designed to address. Wrinkles and deepening of the nasolabial folds and marionette lines are only modestly impacted by a facelift and upper facial dynamic lines not at all. Plus, you want to get the most longevity out of the facelift you can. Maybe its been a few years since your facelift and you notice some laxity starting to show again, not enough to justify another facelift but enough to notice. Dr. Bass discusses options and planning to make the most of your appearance without surgery during the long stretch of time after a facelift before it might be time for another.

Before the Facelift: How a Multi-Faceted Program of Non-Surgical Treatments Can Postpone The Facelift

Before the Facelift: How a Multi-Faceted Program of Non-Surgical Treatments Can Postpone The Facelift

Most people focus of the facelift when they think of plastic surgery, and rightly so as it is still the main reset for facial aging. Still, there are several decades of facial aging before a facelift is indicated. During this time, a plan of treatment is needed to correct the earlier aging changes taking place, as well as to maintain appearance and prevent or slow the onset of facial aging. In fact, non-surgical treatments of the face have become by far the predominate treatments being provided these days.

There are non-surgical modalities that are used in concert to create the desired anti-aging and rejuvenation appearance goals. Medicated skin products, laser and energy based treatments and injectables like neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin and Jeuveau) and fillers (e.g. Restylane, Juvederm and a growing list of others) are mixed and matched based on what features are aging and the preferences and lifestyle limitations of the individual to prevent and restore early facial aging. Given all the options and the range of aging changes encountered in people aged 30, 40 and beyond, Dr. Bass explains how a plan should be constructed in partnership with an experienced plastic surgeon who has a full range of options, surgical and non-surgical, available to patients.

How to look good in midlife: skin care, noninvasives, and surgery
At 30, the wrinkles begin...a skin care program is useful. By 40, Botox and fillers begin to become important. Ulthera is useful by the end of this decade. But by 60, the noninvasive procedures are less useful and facelifts and eyelid lifts become important for maintaining a youthful appearance.
