Inspiration from the Reservoir Bench
If you’ve been a listener, you know that just before the end of season one, Dustin and I moved from California to our new home here in Colorado. Today in the midst of a gorgeous morning walk I am reflecting on the why behind our movement and want to share that with you.
During the pandemic, I became really strong in the habits of journaling and taking walks. Dustin and I would walk our California neighborhood, sometimes multiple times a day, on one of those walks I told him I was feeling pulled to move back to Colorado. Without question or hesitation, he was in.
Back then, I knew in my heart the reason I wanted to move was to be closer to family. I grew up in Colorado and my entire Dad’s side of the family is still here. I wanted to be closer to him, to my grandma, and feel that sense of family again. Since our move, that reason has only shown up stronger for me. Just recently, my Dad’s wife found a lump and was diagnosed with breast cancer. So not only are we able to just spend time with family but we can really show up and be a help to my dad and his wife when they need it.
If you get a chance to watch this recording, you will see the beautiful view I have as I speak to you from the reservoir bench. Everything about this property and our experiences since being here have shown me it was meant to be.
If you have the pull inside to do something new, make a big move, or take a chance….my advice is to listen to that pull. We don’t always fully understand the why behind these pulls we feel but I believe we will if we follow our hearts and put trust in them.
